Guest guest
Dear devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. ISKCON Mayapur is under flood. Around 4 feet water is in the Sri Mayapur Chandrodaya Mandir. Water level is going to increase by another one to two feet according to local government report. Water started entering our campus since yesterday (25th September) around 12.00 noon. Mayapur devotees are working very hard to settle different things at the ground level. We are trying to bring everything beyond the flood level. We sincerely need your blessings to handle the situation. This is a brief informative report. There will be detailed updated reports on regular basis. Guest guest
Dear prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada, whose mercy is spread all over the three worlds! It is very nice that the prabhus are feeling a parental concern for the well being and the safety of the devotees and deities in Mayapur dham in the face of the current flooding. At the same time, we should remember that the flooding of Mother Ganga is a regular pastime, both in the modern times and in ancient history. After all, when Ganga Devi was descending from the spiritual world, she would have destroyed all the three worlds with her power if Lord Siva had not intervened by catching her in his hair. Similarly, as she inundated Bharatvarsa, following the chariot of Maharaja Bhagirati, she flowed with great, powerful force. Looking at the photos taken September 27, the deities are still several meters above water. Even if Lord Narashinghadev submerges in the Ganga for some days, it will be a pastime, not a disaster. On the Navadwipa parikrama the devotees routinely pass one lake where there is a Narashingha deity that is always under water, just to keep Him cool; so if the Lord wants to cool off in the Ganga, what is the loss or lamentation? If the water keeps rising, perhaps it will reach the lotus feet of Radha Madhava and the sakhis, or even if it goes up to the waist of Radha madhava (that would be truly historically high, since they are very tall and purposely installed very high specifically because of the well known annual floods), what is the loss? The Lord Himself takes an abhisheka very nicely, perhaps in His kaupinas, so that His fine dresses don't get spoiled. ; but it may not reach that high. As long as the devotees protect the cows, the grains, the Lord's wardrobe, etc, they'll survive o.k, so where is the "sad" part, unless there is actually sever damage? The Lord is engaged in His eternal rasa with Ganga Devi. In the Brahma Vaivarta Purana Narayan Rishi describes to Narada Muni that one time Ganga devi, as one of the most beautiful of all the gopis in Goloka, was gazing at krishna with great intense love. At that time, Srimati Radharani arrived, along with many sakhis. She was very angry, as she had not arranged for this gopi Ganga Devi to be so intimate with Krishna. Being frightened at the wrath of Radhika, Ganga Devi melted down and entered into the lotus feet of Sri Krishna for protection. Only after Lord Brahma arrived on the scene, pacifying Radhika with prayers, did Ganga Devi dare to come out from the Lord's lotus feet. so she is eternally seeking the lotus feet of the Lord, and she might even come up to wash them in abhiskha herself personally. All is well, provided the devotees are a little careful and wise. your servant always, makhanlal das (ACBSP) Vishal Kapil <vishal.kapil > wrote: Dear Devotees and friends, Its very sad to know that Mayapur has been flooded due release of water in the Mother Ganga from nearby dam. Let us see what Radha-Madhava have in store for us, so far the power has stayed on. We just posted a vidio clip which was taken at 5:30 pm Monday - beginning of the flood, waters rushing in. The video has been posted to Mayapur Darsan forum, to which you can by sending mail to: Mayapur.Darshan (AT) pamho (DOT) net The cyclon was not on top of Mayapur, but the Bay of Bengal. It has plenty of effect here. We had PLENTY of TORRENCIAL RAIN over the last few days, and especially night. The cyclon was over Bay of Bengal, close enough to affect here. Now it is raining very heavely in Bihar and district Magestrate is warning that all that water is heading this way. your servants, Padmalochan Das & Vrindavan Lila Dasi ------------------- our HOME Page: http://www.remembermayapur.com http://mayapur.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=11 http://mayapur.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=2274 --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are d to the Google Groups "ISKCON Youth Federation" group.
