Guest guest
Dear senka ~ now it is my turn to be amazed. How similar our stories. I just got up from my nap, with tears in my eyes because my husband will be moving out on Sunday. This is a great blessing, and I should be celebrating, but, as you said, even though a person may be abusive, it is still possible to love him or her. My therapist warned me against "demonizing" Doug. He said that couples who are in the process of splitting up often do this because it makes it easier. So instead my soft heart is open, and it is broken, but the Goddess will mend it with Her Divine Love, and I know that I have the support of Maa and Swamiji and this sadhu family to do what I know is right for me, even if it is hard. About.com has a wonderful section about spirituality. I to their enewsletter, which briefly covers festivals, dieties or other aspects of Hinduism with links to the About.com site. The most recent one was all about Navaratri. Durga is a Goddess. I believe Kali is an aspect of Durga, but I'm not sure. Someone else may be able to be more specific about this. In any case, part of the story of the Chandi Path is how all the Goddesses emerge from Durga Herself to aid in fighting the Army of Negative Thoughts. For more information: about Durga and Navaratri: _http://hinduism.about.com/library/weekly/aa101701a.htm_ (http://hinduism.about.com/library/weekly/aa101701a.htm) There are also links to pages that have information about Laksmi and Saraswati. For information about Kali, go to this link: _http://hinduism.about.com/library/weekly/aa051202a.htm_ (http://hinduism.about.com/library/weekly/aa051202a.htm) What is wonderful about these pages is that the information is very "user friendly" and easy to understand. On each page, to the left of the main article is a box that says "Related Resources." Some of these are pages with images of the particular Goddess. This page has a lot of good information about Navaratri: _http://hinduism.about.com/library/weekly/aa100502a.htm_ (http://hinduism.about.com/library/weekly/aa100502a.htm) Happy exploring. To my sister in spirit ~ Linda P.S. Truly, everything is a gift from the Gurus. Even though I didn't quote it, your account of your illness and your coming to accept it and move more into the spiritual realm really gave me a sense of hope. I think I've accepted my illness, but, when I look inside, instead I am really fighting it, trying to be the person I used to be, able to do all that I used to do. That doesn't work because when I push, I just get sicker. So acceptance, of a number of things is the order of the day for me. you are the first post i read with this description. i am slow and ill health limits my ability to be online at times so i might have missed any other answeres. i am indeed amazed. i had no idea what this all was. so now i see i can purchase this book and learn what chandi is. that is fantastic news. i dont really know who durga is...i know what it is to be with some one and long for their presence even though they may be abusive. my husband was very violent and i had to put him in jail when he tried to murder my oldest daughter. it was hard to do as i loved him and was loyal. but he was dangerous. many years later i still missed him....i feel it is a gift from the Gurus. but i am much to fallen to actually know anything.
