semmaip panuval - The motherly Love of Kaliyan

 

YasOdha pirATTi was feeling bad that The Divine Child KaNNA for not having milk from her, for sometime.

Thirumangai Mannan could sense this feeling and expressed this in the thirumozhi

'Chandha malar kuzhal thAzha thAn vugandhOdi thaniyEa vandhu' 10-4;

 

She was not able to sustain herself without feeding Him.

 

Periya vAchAn piLLai mentions

 

'Analaogous to the fact that she cannot sustain the non-feeding to Sri KaNNan, Kaliyan cannot sustain himself without outburst of the divine pAsruam-s'

 

The Text of the vyAkyanam : 'ivaL mulaik koduthalladhu thariyAdhAp pOlEA, kavi pADi alladhu thariyAdhArAip pADina kaviyAyithu"

 

Like she cannot bear without feeding Him, AzvAr comes out with poetic outpourings.

 

This is explained by Sri PeriyavAchAn PiLLai for the lines

 

'immai idar keda vEANDi ..kalikanRi' 10-4-10;

of Thirumozhi.
