Dear Sri Vaishnavas,

 

I am very happy to inform this group about the Punar Nermanam (renovation) of Alwarthirunagari - Emperumanar sannidhi (Temple). This renovation work started on 27th August 2006 as prescribed by the akkama sastram. Bala Alaiyum (Bala - Temple) for rajagopuram was constructed on this day and all the Rajagopuram renovation work started the next day. As of today, this temple rajagopuram's 700 years old fragile plastering is removed and sripi (architect) is going to reconstruct the rajagopuram. Many wooden carvings coated with calcium-clay need to be restored as well and not to mention these carvings are the heart of the innumerable facets in the rajagopuram. Using pressurized non-destructive cleaning liquid these wooden carvings are polished and any cracks found in the carvings are filled with long withstanding filling materials.

 

This temple was constructed by Acharyar Thiruvoimozhi pillai. After this construction, there was no history of Temple renovation work that took place here. This is first renovation work ever done to this temple.

 

So, rajagopuram reconstruction work should complete in another 2 months. This renovation work for rajagopuram is done from the donation contributed by Vedics - USA members.

Dear Senthil Swamin,

 

Because of Emperumanar Kiruppai, I have this opportunity to spread this good

NEWS to this community. And today, in our lifetime this temple renovation

kainkaryam is happening and I have no words to express this happiness.

 

Dear SriVaishnavas,

 

This is a huge project and for the last 100 years this temple is struggling

financially. It is very sad to see such historic temple is in near

destruction. Now, there is big hope of restoring this heavenly place of

worship. Without the contribution from Vedics - USA members this renovation

process could be a dream. Now a dream is started to come true. As of now,

Only the critically damaged parts of temple is planned to being restored

e.g. Rajagopuram, Gharba Gharaham etc. But, temple devasthanam and temple

thirupani committee is looking for financial help to support many other

construction activities. I am requesting the members of this group to

contribute generously for this noble cause.
