I was wondering if anybody could tell me since I am bharadwaja gothram and I have the rishes angiras, brihaspati and bharadwaja in my gothra prabhavam can anybody tell me my lineage like after bhardwaja who was next and since harita gothram and gargi gothram also have angiras, does that mean that I am connected to them. And can anybody describe to me the characteristics of the different rishi families. I want the descriptions for Bhargavas, Angirases, Kashyapas, Vashistas and the Atris and describe to me the greatness of Bharadwaja gothram

I belong to ShatamarSHaNa gotra and we also have Angiras.

 

Most gothrams have one of the sapta RSHis - atri, bhRgu, kutsa,

vasiSHTa, gautama, kAshyapa and Angirasa (actually all gothrams should

have one of them in principle). You also see slightly different set of

names for sapta RSHis. Thus, Angiras will be one among

for several gothrams. Because the way teh gothras are assaigned (based

on father's lineage), totally ignoring the maternal contribution

(50%), any relationship simply based on gothra is of little importance.

My sister's children, though closely related to me,

have a totally different gotram. I am more relate dto them than some

other person who has same gotram as I have.

We shoul dbear thi sin mind and keep it as only as much importance we

give to daily/weekly/monthly hproscope section of

magazines!

In a way we are all related (inspite of differences in religion,

country of origin, race , caste, creed, color, species!).

That is the crux of both Biology and Hinduism.
