3 Lakh devotees witness "Garudaseva"

 

 

 

TIRUPATI, Sept.29, (TIRUPATITIMES.COM)

 

 

 

A record three lakh rush of devotees from all over India and abroad have

witnessed the most celestial "Garudaseva Procession" of Lord

Venkateswara on the fifth day of nine day annual Brahmotsvam festivals

at Tirumala near here one Friday night.

 

 

 

Tens of millions of devotees all over the globe too had the opportunity

of viewing the sacred festival live on the Internet at

As part of the festival the over a millennium old utsav idol of Lord

Venkateswara, adorned with several highly valuable dazzling ornaments

including the ancient 5 foot high Makhara Kanti Haram, Chandra Haram and

Sri Lakshmi Maha Haram, mounted on the tastefully decorated Garuda

Vahavana was taken out in a very grand procession around shrine.

 

 

 

The devotionally charged Tirumala hills which was thickly blanketed with

the sea of devotees has resounded continuously with chantings of Jagat

Rakshaka - Govinda - Govinda by devotees when the procession was on.

 

 

 

Unprecedented security arrangements by various agencies were made for

the most sacred event of the mega festivals.
