Guest guest
Sat naam jis, I am looking for more information about the Spinal Rolls exercise we do, from Apanasana, where you rock and roll up and down the spine. Is there any "best" or "better" way to do this? Any details or experiences would be interesting to hear. One of my students asked if it was better to have the legs straighter rather than bent up close to the body. I have seen it specified that way in some kriyas. What is the difference? The benefits of Spinal Rolls (I like to call it "Rock and roll!") are: navel activation, distribution of energy throughout the body, massaging the whole back, stimulating kidneys; plus the benefits of inversions if you are able to roll back far enough to get the pelvis above the shoulders/heart. Psychologically, they give you a new perspective/outlook by turning your world upside down; plus it's fun to do and lifts up your mood! Please reply with more. Thanks! Om Namah Shivaya, ranjit k.
