Guest guest
Sat naam, jis: Happy Navaratri. Om Aim Saraswatyai Namah! I have questions. The subtle body is the 9th Body. What chakra does this correspond to? What is the subtle body? Is it the spirit... the soul? I've heard the subtle body is the one that is affected by drug use. Is this correct? Why? Thank you! Guest guest
Dear Ranjit Kaur: Each body contains all the chakras. The 9th body is not the soul. The soul is the first body. All the bodies interplay with each other. At death, when the breath stops (the pranic body dies), the subtle body wraps itself around the soul and extricate it out of the Earth plane to what I call the God space. The 9th body is one aspect of your intuition, that particular intuition of feeling the energy of a room, at a party, or in meditation. Gurudev says that we use the 9th body when we practice Sat Nam Rasayan at a distance. It is the body of the humanitarian, the one in service to his/her community. It is the body that gives an experience of mastery instead of mystery of life. I don't know about how drugs affect the 9th body. But surely the first body affected is the physical body (the 5th) which includes the nervous system, neuron connections and glands and so on. This in turn affects the aura (7th body) which is strengthened by a strong nervous system and the arc line (6th body) is affected through the weakening of the immune system, self esteem, and paranoia. The way with deal with the life force is affected so the 8th body is affected. Our 10th body (radiant body) is affected as we stop being accountable for what we do. The 9th body is affected because we disconnect from the subtle experience of life. And the 3 aspects of the mind are affected because they are no longer engaged. It seems to me all the bodies are affected except the soul. But to say that the 9th body is the only one affected or the one affected the most, I wouldn't know and have never heard it from my teacher Agia Akal. Guest guest
Sat Nam All, I can relate to Awtar's writing here, recalling the days (OK, years) that I was active in my alcoholism and recreational drug use. Kundalini yoga, meditation and participation in 12 Step Program have facilitated remarkable changes in my life and my being. I never really thought of how the disease affected the bodies, but see or feel it very clearly now. There is still work to be done! Guest guest
this theory of the 10 bodies is very interesting- do you have an article or something that explains each of them and the differences between them? pranay2
Of the five bodies subtle body or pranamaya kosha is the second from the gross one. You can travel by it by first developing it by Guru Mantra and then after awakening the third eye going out through it. It is like dream state. Years pass by in the subtle world and only seconds on the physical plane .As in a dream you lead a whole life in just seconds of the REM stage. It is very hard and only possible for siddha yogis. People like us can do it while in the state of sleep , but only through proper guidence. It is better to travel by car than wasting time and the power of Mantras on something possible through machines. The power of yoga should not be used for jugglery but for liberation only.Instead of getting into subtle body business, I would advice you to stick on your Guru Given sadhana and follow his instructions only.
