Guest guest
Dear DB, I have always been a great admirer of your writing. When you put up a points its well said. And off course this email is no exception. Hence I have nothing to say expcet.. > > *** The Tantras also have special "paribhasa" or dictionary of > techinal terms which the authors use most promiscuously in the text, > making it more and more difficult for the uninitiated to get at the > primary sense which the authors particularly wants to convey. My > Comment: This should clear all the doubts people have why they need a > guru. *** > > That's fair enough. But then you spin it with an oft-cited quote from > Woodroffe: > > *** [" ...] the Five Mudras which are popularly and quite erroneously > called the Five Makaras [...] are not meant to represent the material > objects as understood by the most superficial and callous critics of > the Tantras." *** Actually it was a news to me. I didnt not read it in Woodroffe, as I have not read it yet. This entire text was preface of B. Bhattacharyya, Dated 25th March 1941, in second volume of Shakti Sangama Tantra, The Tara Khand. I do not know the date when Woodroffe. If it was later then 1941 then perhaps he was quoting Bhattacharyya ji, other wise it could be other way round. Or perhaps they both are quoting someone else.. Heck what do I know.. ? Regards Dp
