Cultivate wisdom. In order to know God, it is most efficient to study the

Sanskrit language. In the Sanskrit language there is an illumination of the

wisdom of the soul. From the study of Sanskrit certain attitudes arise and

become

illuminated. The attitude of wisdom in all ideals of perfection are One.

These vibrations become apparent in the study of Sanskrit.

Dear shreemaadevotee ~ I am still hoping that Swamiji will come out with a

book, or a series, starting with "Sanskrit Made Easy," or something like the

"Dummies" books, and then maybe moving along to more advanced learning. When I

first read, in one of Swamiji's introductions, that scriptures are

periodically translated, to make them fresh and current for the present time, I was

very interested in that statement, and then I saw by reading how marvelously and

perfectly he did just this in his translations. So I keep hoping and praying

that Swamiji will hear the longing some of us have written to learn

Sanskrit. There are lots of websites "out there," books, etc. I even bought a book,

and from the first page could make no sense of it whatsoever.

I know how Swamiji puts things in context, and how clearly he is able to

make the scriptures, his answers to our questions, etc., and how elegantly and

efficiently. Surely Swamiji is so very busy, especially now with the online

classes and his own sadhana and work with the sadhus at the Mandir. A book, or a

series, about Sanskrit, by Swamiji, would be an incredible blessing.

Last night I was reading the athargala stotram (The Praise Which Unfastens

the Bolt) in the Chandi, where we ask the Goddess to give us her form give us

victory, give us welfare, remove all hostility. This is one of my favorite

sections of the Chandi, I think because the Sanskrit that goes with this part ~

rupam dehi, jayam dehi aysho dehi dvisho jahi ~ is so beautiful to my ears

and my heart. I sounds like music to me. And I think that, until my husband

actually leaves, I am going to just keep reading this chapter over and over ...

because I am having such a hard time. Delays keep my hubby from moving out,

and the longer he is here, the more pain I feel. So I call on the Goddess.

Jai Chandi Ma! ~ Linda
