Dear Visti-ji,

Pranaam. Thank you for the timely lecture on gemstones. It seems that whenever I am curious about a particular aspect of jyotish, your lectures follow soon after. I have a few questions on the lecture and related material.

(a) The dasa you mentioned for selecting gemstone is Vimsottari (Chandra) Dasa or the applicable Conditional Dasa for the chart? If two applicable Udu dasas are present (both with dasa karakas well placed from AK) then do we choose the gemstones based on those Conditional Dasas ?

(b) If two completely inimical grahas are in conjunction, say Guru-Rahu or Sani-Mangal, do we, in order to enhance Mangal, choose Sani's stone ? For enhancing Guru, choose Rahu's stone ? I think the mutual sambandha is important for consideration and the exchange of effect is only 75 % . Parivartana is a stronger sambandha than conjunction, so rasi parivartana will also alter the gemstone selection, like conjunction ? What if one of the parivartana grahas are also conjoined with a third graha ?

© You mentioned passingly that there is a difference for male and female native (red and pink Rubies). What are the reasons for the difference ? Also for female natives to increase the effect of a graha, the gemstone should be worn in the left of right hand? This is because, in pamistry, right hand in male is taken to be equivalent to left hand of female.

(d) Suppose Ketu in 9th is to be remedied with Guru's stone. But Guru is with Mangal. Do we recommend red coral ? Will this enhance akasha tattva ?

(e) If Sani is 9th lord in the 9th house, do we still recommend a red Ruby ? If Rahu is the owner of the 9th (comparatively stronger than Sani) but not aspecting 9th and Sani is aspecting 9th by graha-drishti, do we recommend Ruby or Yellow Sapphire ?

(f) You have mentioned that the person will not like the gemston of the Graha placed in the 6/11 or MKS from Paakalagna. You didn't mention the 8th house or 12th houses. Kindly elaborate. In my case, Guru is in 8th from Budha in the lagna.

(e) About colors of clothes:

(i) By wearing gemstone in the left or right we can decrease or increase. But by wearing clothes we can only increase, right ?

(ii) You mentioned that 1st house for upper part of the body, 5th for middle and 9th for lower part of the body. Does clothes in these portions of the body need to be considered similarly ?

(iii) If there are no grahas in a sign, what effect the sign's color will have ?

(iv) I think there is a difference between gemstone's colors and clothes' colors. In case of gemstones, a color, say yellow is transmitted by the stone to the body skin and the rest of the components of the white color is absorbed. In case of clothes there is no transmission to the body. So that is the reason why the the khetra color is used to that the graha's effect will come ? Also, if one is working under a blue light, wearing a white (for Vrisabha) will not be effective and will give the effect of enhancing the Makara, right ?

(v) If there are two grahas conjoining in say Dhanus rasi. If we use golden color clothes, we increase the effect of both of them -- if one is beneficial and other is malefic, this is not desirable, right ?

I am asking many questions. Please answer if your time permits.

Best wishes,

Sourav

Ratnakaraka is the Moon, hence the Vimsottari dasa or 'general' udu dasa

should be used. I.e. if Tara dasa is applicable then choose that instead

of vimsottari.

Yes, Rasi Parivartana also alters the selection. If you wanto enhance

Mangal then choose mangal's stone, but if you want the effects of

Mangal's lordship you can choose the conjoined planets stone, like in

the case of PM Narasimha Rao, where a coral was worn to enhance the

bhadramahapurusha yoga and vipareet raja yoga.

The difference in gemstones is due to the amount of agni presiding in a

ruby. As ladies have a predominant jala tatva influence, the enhancing

of agni can turn very negative for them. To calm this down we use a

substitute stone which still carries the same effects.

Right hand is masculine and left is feminin, and what we carry with us

from past life is seen in the left hand whilst the right shows the

future, and karma about to be reaped. Still for ladies this will not

change the hand of wearing the gemstone compared to men. So ladies

should also wear gemstones on their right hand to increase the effects

of gemstones.

> (d) Suppose Ketu in 9th is to be remedied with Guru's stone. But Guru

If you wanto enhance akasha tattva then wear a yellow sapphire. You

cannot increase agni (mars/sun) and expect akasha tattva to rise also.

> Ruby ? If Rahu is the owner of the 9th (comparatively stronger than

Yes we still recommend it. Their nature is aimed towards durbhagya

unfortunately.

Well, do let us know. Do you like to wear the pokhraj?

> (e) About colors of clothes:

> (i) By wearing gemstone in the left or right we can decrease or

Yes. However, there are also colors for decreasing effects of some colors.

> (ii) You mentioned that 1st house for upper part of the body, 5th

> for middle and 9th for lower part of the body. Does clothes in these

> portions of the body need to be considered similarly ?

Well, one can be more specific. Example: the twelfth house shows ones

feet, so to increase the bhagya (ninth house) of ones feet/gati, then

wear the color of the sign in the eighth house.

> (iii) If there are no grahas in a sign, what effect the sign's

Very general effects. Green is the sign of Gemini and the person will by

nature become very playful, excited and full of energy like a small kid.

To my knowledge all colors work on the mind, whether they be reflected

through prisms or other means.

Yes, some colors can be inauspicious too.

Dear Visti-ji,

Pranaam. Thank you for clarification. You

have given two key concepts:

(a) If we want to increase the lordship, we use the

conjunction/parivartana; if we want to increase the tattva, we don't see

the conjunction/parivartana. (b) Color of the 9th from a given rasi will

increase the bhagya of the said rasi. This definitely helps.

I will let you know once I have actually put the yellow pokhraj on. I am

waiting for the Muhurta.

I have one more question on a different issue. The North Indian

(Diamond) Chakra is ruled by Sukra and the South Indian regular chakra

is ruled by Guru. When I started to learn jyotish from the internet

sites, I got used to the North Indian Chakra which I later on didn't

change. Do you think to enhance the blessings of Guru on me, I should

start using the South Indian System ?

Best wishes,

Sourav
