why silk?

Actually the solution is simple don't wear silk, Srila Prabhupada may have

done sometimes and some Swamis may do, but actually there is no need for silk

for us.Srila Jagadananda Pandita showed and taught by his strict example and

would often quarrel with devotees to make them accept a higher standard, he has

 

advised us in his Prema Vivarta to not eat to opulent and dress to opulent.

Silk is opulent. I used to have silk as a brahmacari mainly for puja and

preaching and it is nice material, one well-wishing sannyasi quoted the vers

from

Jagadananda Pandita , I accepted it, later I saw him wear silk when he became a

 

Guru, however I took it as good advice anyway. And this is another reason to

not

wear silk due to the harm done to the silk worms. I admire your compassion,

thank you Prabhu. Maybe Sriman Hari Sauri Prabhu can enlighten us what Srila

Prabhupadas standard was on silk ? I don't think it is such a big issue, but I

have avoided using silk.
