Guest guest
Dear Nrsimha Kavaca Prabhu PAMHO AGTSP Yes, each country has its variations of meat contaminated food, and particularly sugar. But when meat contaminated sugar or food is being offered to ISKCON Deities in any part of the world simply out of laziness or ignorance surely it is the duty of the ISKCON Deity worship ministry to intervene and raise that standard. Offering meat contaminated food to Deities is not a small thing, but many devotees trivialize it saying there are more important things to get on with. This is a bad attitude. It is all a question of 'level of interest'. Some dismiss this issue, saying that we have been doing it - using white meat contaminated sugar - for decades, so what is the harm if we continue? I could name some temples... But just see the attitude toward the Deity. Offering meat contaminated sugar to the Deity - when there are alternatives - and they don't think it is an important thing!! The level of interest set by H.H. Danavir Goswami is excellent. He took much trouble and time for the pleasure of his Deities to research what was contaminated and what was not and then acted accordingly to ensure that his Deities did not get meat contaminated sugar or food. He is such a wonderful Vaisnava, genuinely thinking of the pleasure of the Deity. ISKCON is famous the world over for its high standard of Deity worship. But if meat contaminated sugar is being used for mangal aratik sweets then what kind of standard is that? Nowadays, no one can say there is no alternative to using meat contaminated sugar, or any other contaminated food, it is simply a question of high or low level of concern for the Deity both locally and from the international ministry. It would be interesting to know how many of the hundreds of ISKCON temples worldwide are offering meat contaminated sugar and/or food to their Deities!! Does this issue even concern the Deity Ministry? ys ad > Dear Ajamila prabhu, > > Please accept my humble obeisances.
