This time he is conducting a crusade in favour of Hindus and Hinduism. His latest book titled 'Hindus Under Seige' argues that Hindus need to acquire a new mindset to meet the challenges facing them from several quarters. While not everyone will agree with this thesis, there is no doubt that India 's perennial political gadfly is working hard to re-enter the political mainstream by aligning himself with a mainstream party. Excerpts from the interview with Swamy: Your book warns that unless Hindus do not come together psychologically and culturally; they will be destroyed as were the ancient Greeks and Egyptians. Isn 't that theory a little far-fetched? Indians are facing a major identity crisis. We need to ask ourselves who we are? What is our core ethos? As a nation, we have been fed so many falsehoods. The whole theory about the Aryan invasion and their creation of Sanskrit and the Vedas, is nothing but British-created falsehood. These historians also claimed that the Saraswati river was a myth until the American satellite Landstat photographed the map and bed of this river. The Harappan civilisation is nothing but a continuation of the Vedic epoch. This north-south Aryan-Dravidian divide has been proved wrong by American scholars having taken the DNA of Indians and Europeans and founded that there is not difference between the so-called Aryans and the Dravidians. Ours has been a continuous civilization for the last 10,000 years. Most Indians would be quite happy to accept this? Yes but quite the contrary is happening. Hindus are being systematically prepared for psychological enslavement and not the other way around. Take the way a false murder case was foisted on the Kanchi Shankaracharya. The case was bogus and was thrown out by the Supreme Court as having `no worthwhile prima facie evidence '. The Shankaracharya was arrested in a Congress-ruled state on Diwali day. The Finance Ministry froze 142 bank accounts of the Mutt and not a single Congress leader from Sonia Gandhi down to their district level president uttered a word against the arrest. He was put in a jail with other criminals. It was pointed out to the government that when political leaders like Sheikh Abdullah, Jaiprakash Narayan and Morarjee Desai were arrested, they were not lodged in jail. The circumstantial evidence pointed quite clearly towards the Christian lobby that was working against him. The Shankaracharya had been going to Dalit enclaves and consecrating their temples and thereby restricting the influence of the Christians who had looked upon the Dalits as being a fertile ground for conversion. Obviously, all this had the blessings of Sonia Gandhi who is a nominee for the Christian lobby. But you go on to debunk our founding fathers adopting `secularism ', without debating or defining what this meant? When Martin Luther had used the word secularism, he had meant the power of the state could be used without the directions of the church. In India, Nehru accepted the Marxian definition as being something eschewing religion. This did not work as this has been rejected by the public at large. You use the word Chakravartin. The Chakravartin would be the apex authority. While society would work in a decentralised manner but when there was a threat, the people would come together and that is how we should work towards the future. You are so anti-Sonia Gandhi and yet you were a close friend of her husband, the late Rajiv Gandhi? We need a permanent holiday from the Nehru family. It seems strange that the widow of the late Rajiv Gandhi had no compunction in writing to the Supreme Court asking for a pardon of the four people who had killed him. No such letters were written for Satwant Singh and many others. Nor does she have any compunction in working with parties who have worked closely with the LTTE? I am still fighting for revenge against those who killed Rajiv Gandhi. But at one point of time you were closely associated with both Jayalalitha and Sonia Gandhi. In fact, you helped bring down an earlier government at the centre. Why did your relations with Sonia Gandhi sour? I had a working relationship with her (Sonia). But she betrayed me. Before the Vajpayee government was brought down, I had asked her quite specifically if she was a candidate for the prime minister. She said she would discuss this after the fall of the government. When it had fallen, she was the first to declare that she had the support of 270 MPs. You also blocked her plans to become prime minister? I was called to meet the President at Rashtrapati at 12.45 p.m. The Congress was at that point claiming Sonia had 340 letters of support and would be asked to become prime minister at 5 p.m. of the same day. She however got a letter from the President telling her not to come as he would have to seek the opinion of the Supreme Court before he could swear her in. I have been demanding that the Congress make that letter public but so far that has not been done But at one point you were also close to Jayalalithaa? At one time we were good friends but I had told her from the start that I would not withdraw the cases I had filed against her. At one point, she was fined Rs 28 crore by the Madras High Court but she has gone into appeal against that judgement. Are you planning to join another political party? I came to politics via the Jan Sangh. My problem with them arose because of dilution of their policies. But I have never left the Janata party. In fact, I am one of the few leaders who has never changed a party. What do you think about the performance of the present government? The government has no policy whatsoever. It maybe led by an economist but even its economic policy is totally ad hoc and directionless. The economy is doing well only because of the performance of private manufacturing, the service and the IT industry, all of which lie outside the domain of the government sector. This government has no counter terrorist policy. Terrorist attacks after stepped up after 2004. The prime minister cannot stand up to Pakistan. What does he mean by saying Pakistan is equally affected by terrorism. Has any attempt been made to blow up their Parliament? Have they faced frequent bomb attacks? Our foreign policy has become a stooge of America. I 'm not saying we should support Iran, nuclear deal but we must stand up to them when it is a question of our own national interest. I would say this is the most incompetent government since the time of Shah Alam. In the coming UP elections, the Janata Party will be entering into an alliance with the BJP. --- End forwarded message ---
