Guest guest
Rick, This is fascinating. Can you speak more about this? Does this have to do with TM? Are these westerners still a regular part of society, job, children, driving on the highway...going to the market? Do they speak of how it actually happened....the final stages....that kind of thing? It is rare to hear that of Westerners. Fairfield sounds like a neat place. S > It is becoming somewhat commonplace. I think the reasons so many TM people are waking up are that * For most people, it¹s a very effective technique from day 1 * Many here learned it in the late 60¹s (including me) or early 70¹s and have been practicing it regularly ever since. I no longer do it, strictly speaking, because I¹m using Amma¹s mantra, but I use it TM-style. * Many of these people have not only been meditating regularly for decades (at least a couple of hours a day, including advanced techniques), but attended many courses over the years in which we mediated all day for months on end. Here¹s a description a friend sent me today: ³When we arrived in Majorca we were told to go to our room and start meditating as much as possible and come back to a meeting a week later. They said Maharishi was in silence for a week and we should just stay in our rooms and meditate. After 6 weeks of rounding we went to Fiuggi, Italy for a month or so. The course on ³Fantasy Island² was wild and crazy. I rounded for 44 hours at a stretch (4 hour meditations then asanas) and then came out, went to dinner, then to a lecture with Maharishi. He came to our hotel every other day. It was wintertime and there were a lot of storms. People literally went crazy.. People were running up and down the halls screaming in the middle of the night. It was wild. That was the last course where people just meditated all the time. * So there were casualties, but those who survived made significant progress. * The TM Movement has gotten weird in recent years. For that and other reasons, many people have drifted away from it, grateful for what they received but ready to explore other things. It seems to me that for many people, this act of leaving the incubator has enabled many people to hatch. After all that sadhana, they discard habitual ways of thinking and that newfound freedom puts them over edge. Now as you imply, those with worldly responsibilities can¹t put in the hours of sadhana that some TM people have, but I¹m seeing many people who are relatively new to spiritual things undergoing significant awakenings. I think it¹s the nature of the age. In the coming years, it¹s going to get much worse for most people in the world, and a majority may die, but those focused on real spirituality will be uplifted by carried ashore by a tidal wave of enlightenment. Guest guest
Hi Rick, Thanks for taking the time to answer some of my questions. When people speak of the various stages they have gone through prior to liberation, are there any things that stick out as worthy of sharing? The other question answered, was that the people who have attained liberation, spent many years in sadhana, and were not necessarily working and living lives in the world. Now, though, I assume they are.
