Guest guest
Om Sri Gurubhyo Namah Dear members: In Sri. B.V. Raman's Hindu Predictive Astrology and other text books the results of planets in rasis or signs are given. For e.g: Mars in Gemini: Loving family and children, scientific, taste in refinement, skilled in music, etc. Are these just based on a combination of planet signification, sign signification and relationship between lords of the signs ? I would appreciate any guidance on this. Regards. Murli
Guest guest
Sri BV Raman is the pioneering figure of Modern Vedic Astrology. He has written several books in simple and easy to understand English, with no pretensions of so called neo astrologers. Very often, you will come across him cautioning the reader that he should apply the readings ad verbatim and sometimes, candidly admitting that it is not possible to predict certain things. You would be astonished to find such humility and simplicity in such great a personality. Coming to your query, most of his readings are based on the classical texts and his own interpretations of the same, however with more understandable bias towards the south Indian texts such as prasna marga, manasagari and Bhavartha ratnakara. Obviously, a planet's position in a chart depends upon the sign, the bhava and the planet's nature and significations, so as its lordships. In deeper analysis, the planet's position within the sign also matters such as its position in a particular lunar mansion and its quadrant, the position of the planet in various divisional charts and its position vis-à-vis other significant planets. Readings pertaining to planetary positions given in the books, either in sri Raman's books or in classics, are the stand-alone positions. They have to be suitably changed, by looking at the entirety of the chart. Guest guest
Dear Murli To some extent but not entirely and sometimes the reasoning can be quite obscure. Sometimes these are derived from classical texts whose authenticity is questionable. Kind regards Nicholas >Are these just based on a combination of planet signification, sign >signification and relationship between lords of the signs ? > >I would appreciate any guidance on this. > >Regards. > >Murli > > > > > >
Guest guest
Try to read between the lines and try to see behind the picture. These are very important subtleties which we all often ignore. There can be nothing useless in the wisdom of the great seers.
