Cow will call (its calf). Like that I call my nandhi (Lord). That is due to wisdom. Notes: 1. Many people think one need not make any effort to move towards God. When the time comes and when the God showers grace, one would automatically get devotion, wisdom etc. They even misquote "avan aruLAlE avan thAL vaNaN^gi". This thiruvacakam line means that, if God does not shower grace, no effort of the soul can take it to the Bliss of God. That highlights the glory of Gods grace, which is the essential condition to upliftment. But God has been always showering grace - incessantly. It is in fact waiting for us to switch our inclination towards It, so that It can put us in eternal bliss. All those who make that switch get out of the clutches of filth and get liberated. People who put the blame on God for not having devotion are basically lethargic and are to be blamed for their own apathy. The wise like our saint thirumUlar call out for Lord shiva out of love, like how a cow would call for its calf. c.f. kanRai n^inain^thezu thAy ena van^tha kaNakkathu - thiruvAcakam kanRakal puniRRA pOlvAr - periya purANam 2. A - cow; n^an^thi - birthless/deathless - Lord shiva.
