Dear Sadagopan Swamy and other Desika Bhakthas

 

With the grace of Swami Desikan we were fortunate to participate in the

Thirunkshtharam celebrations at Thoopul , Vilakkoli perumal Koil and

Varadar koil. At Thoopul sannandhi the celebrations had commenced from 24

September though I was able to join only from 1 October. The daily

Thirumanjanam of Swami Desikan (during the 10 days ) and Vilakoli perumal

should be witnessed by every Shishyan .It is a great experience and Adeyen

has been very fortunate that the Acharya has blessed me with numerous

opportunities to partcipate . The Thoppul Sannadhi Bhattar's Shradda in

performing the thirumajanam assisted by Dr Sadagopan Thathachary and Shri

Suresh Sadagopan is something I look forward to witness whenever I visit

India .The kalakshepam after the Thirumanjanam delivered by Dr Sadagopan on

1 October was moving as we were able to identify ourselves with his emotions

for the great Acharya . The Thathiarathanai that followed the Thrirumanjanam

was simple as it should be but apt for the occasion reflecting life style

of the Acharya.

On 3 October we participated in the piriya vidai which was grand as usual.

In 2005, the rain had shortened the great function . This time around, we

were fortunate that the weather was great. After spending a few hours with

Lord Varadan, the Acharya witnessed the reciting of strotra mala by a

gathering of over 500 before coming down from hasthigiri for Piriya Vidai. I

and others gathered in the temple were witness to the perspiration in Swami

Desikan's thiruumukam after His eakantham with Lord Varadan .

I would encourage all shishyas of Desika sampradayam to time their visit to

India to coincide with the Thirunakhtharam as it is an experience that is

not to be missed. It is 10 days of celebration and one is at a loss to

decide which Sannadhi to go. . The devotees at kanchi and Thoopul were all i

immersed in singular thought and that was our Acharya . What better way to

celebrate than be in such company .

 

Dr Sadagopan Thathachary and his nephew Shri Suresh are doing great

service to Thoopul Sannadhii. I thank them for their efforts which requires

sustained commitment for a cause that is difficult in a materialist world.
