Guest guest
I studied Ashtanga in Mysore with Sheshadri last year. I want to study with Guruji this winter for 1 or 2 months. I will be in India from Dec. to May. I was wondering can you begin practice with Jois in the middle of the month i.e. on the 14th or does it have to start on the first?? I know study with him is done by the month. Is there a best time to study with him i.e. a month that isn't as crowded? What is the best way to find out if Guruji will be in town? Does study with Jois include philosophy or talks, or is it strictly asana?
Guest guest
You can start on any day of the week with Guruji. Just show up at between 2-4pm to register and he will give you a start time - usually 7 or 730am in the beginning. Monday to Thursday are the best days to start tho... The best way to know when he is there is to check ashtanga.com. Sharath will be away a lot in the next few months but I'm pretty sure Guruji will be around until March. Then he's away til April 15th...or so I've been told. November til March are the busiest times to go but the energy is off the scale then too! Enjoy! Emma Oh, study includes Sunday conference. You can also take chanting and sanskrit classes with Laxmish at the shala for an additional monthly fee but it's so small (about $10us for the month) that it's worth it! ashtanga yoga, "poolsofmercury2003" <poolsofmercury2003 wrote: > > I studied Ashtanga in Mysore with Sheshadri last year. > I want to study with Guruji this winter for 1 or 2 months. > I will be in India from Dec. to May.
