Just a quick note to thank you for that

translation

of the 'siddhaantabindu' of Madhusudana. From my reading of

Vedanta Paribhasa I took it that the witness (saksin) is Pure Consciousness

with the limiting adjunct of the mind and that it is

individual because the mind is individual. So if the Jiva via

the mind is under the sway of nescience in the state of

deep sleep then it might be said that the Jiva has a type of

no-experience experience and in that way has a memory

of some sort which was a point that I had doubts about.

 

The retention of individuality as the limiting

adjuncts drop off is an interesting point.
