Guest guest
This is very personal to me, but I thought I would write about it anyway. I have been repeating one of Devi's mantras for quite a while now, and I have experienced very good results.Usually as a result of practice these days, I see a very bright yellow or white light, brighter than the sun. I did some reading, and I have also heard this light is a result of sustained concentration - so I am wondering if it is occuring because of my concentration, or the mantra itself, or both. Another reason I am curious about this is because I have not been formally initiated into this mantra, I felt drawn to it and picked it out for myself - and I have heard it is not possible to receive full benefit from mantra in this way. I really feel a little lost because I have no one to communicate with about this who is knowledgeable.I know that communicating on a message board is not the same as having a guru, but there seem to be so many knowledgable people here that they may illumine my steps a bit better - hopefully those steps will become as illumined as the bright light I sometimes am fortunate enough to see in my mind. Guest guest
Chances are that you'll receive probably too much information if you open yourself to it from a board like this. Which may lead to confusion. Better to have a guru, but here goes - there's no problem with light during meditation. It happens and may be a sign of right approach depending on technique. On the other hand, any and all meditation experiences usually are not weighed or judged but instead let go of with abandon as they are all various karmas. Often, very subtle karmas such as the seeds of karmas - the deities themselves. I'll say no more. - "Erotic Ethel" <retroprecursor > <> Wednesday, October 18, 2006 4:46 PM experiences with mantra > > > This is very personal to me, but I thought I would write about > it anyway. > I have been repeating one of Devi's mantras for quite a while > now, and I have experienced very good results.Usually as a result of > practice these days, I see a very bright yellow or white light, > brighter than the sun. > I did some reading, and I have also heard this light is a result > of sustained concentration - so I am wondering if it is occuring > because of my concentration, or the mantra itself, or both. > Another reason I am curious about this is because I have not been > formally initiated into this mantra, I felt drawn to it and picked it > out for myself - and I have heard it is not possible to receive full > benefit from mantra in this way. > I really feel a little lost because I have no one to communicate > with about this who is knowledgeable.I know that communicating on a > message board is not the same as having a guru, but there seem to be > so many knowledgable people here that they may illumine my steps a > bit better - hopefully those steps will become as illumined as the > bright light I sometimes am fortunate enough to see in my mind. > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Dinna worry!! Laydie. But the important thing is just to ignore all these penomena except as markers on the road and plod on. At the apropriate time your Guru will appear.. She/he will have a light job then. Erotic Ethel <retroprecursor > wrote: This is very personal to me, but I thought I would write about it anyway. Guest guest
Happy Diwali Everyone! Thanks for responding to my message, llundrub and kochu.I have never celebrated Diwali before, and I did not know much about the holiday (when it takes places, what it is about), but I found it to be an interesting coincidence that I wrote about this not long before the festival of lights! , sankara menon <kochu1tz wrote: > > Dinna worry!! pranay2
You must not share your experiences with anyone . it goes away. There is no progress without Guru. The light you see is just childs play , even a light bulb can do that , if you want to experience Brahmanand , you will need a Guru. Sience you can easily get cheated these days, my advice will be chanting Guru Gita. The Guru destined for you will contact you one way or another in an indirect way by inspiration. You need a lamp to light another lamp.Only a man with eyes can guide another. Not us at forums. You cant graduate discussing with students or by a book, you need a professor , dont you?
