Guest guest
Respected all, This question of mine should not be treated as offensive by any means. I am totally ignorant and want to find answers. Q1).How much authority a Guru should have on the disciple? Q2).Should you just follow someone, because that guru has a lot of disciples? Does that measures the greatness of a guru? Q3).I know even guru also needs money to live. But is it ethical for a guru to asks for a lot of money to give you the solution to your problem? Please advice. Doubtful and confused Puneet
Guest guest
A Guru happens only with a karmic connection........................so a master comes as he is connected to you or you have a connection to his lineage. In selecting a Guru..............trust your instinct, go by the gut..... Take a lot of time getting to know him........ Let the respect build with time......... Take time before taking Diksha..... Then commit. Also, disciples is not a measure nor money. Often a real Master will ask very little of you in the begining.............but in the end he will take you which is everything! Guest guest
Dear Puneet All the questions depend on if Your Guru is a True One . if so : 1. that depend on You , how much authority you allow , will You surrender or not ? depends on You 2. it is not about quantity but quality ( You could have Guru with very little disciples ) You should not measure Guru by His/Her disciples. 3. a true Guru will not ask for money ! , however a little offering is customary it is also ok to help Guru out in missions they present , however that should be not obligation . Finding a true Guru in todays times is indeed very hard , if You can obtain One , that is true Gem . Good luck. joanna > Puneet Gulati <puneetgulati05 wrote: > Respected all, > This question of mine should not be treated as > offensive by any means. Guest guest
Dear Puneet ji, Goom rudati iti guruh, that is, one who dispels ignorance is guru. What mahahrada was trying to do to you was precisely that. Accept him as your Guru. As someone else suggested, guru should not demand and accept too much money AND mahahrada will not ask for it.
