Guest guest
Dear Gururattan, I'm writing you from Italy - I live near Rome. Sorry for my english, I hope you can understand it. I've a doubt, and I would like to have your opinion or advise, only if it's possibile: obviously I don't want to disturb you wasting your time... I've been learning Kundalini Yoga in Rome many years ago, in 1976 or 1977, probably I was one of the first students, and the names of my teachers were Guru Meher Singh and Guru Meher Kaur Khalsa. I met Yogi Bhajan during the first Tantra in Europe, near Tour, in France. I've been practicing Yoga constantly for - more or less - five years, and after that I did other experiences in my spiritual search, but periodically I returned again to do KY for little periods. Ten years ago I had very concrete problems in my life, and I needed an help. Doing KY I was going to be more and more full of anger, and I wasn't able to get out of this. Then I met buddhism. I'm sure you know the Soka Gakkai school... Through the mantra Nam Myoho Renge Kyo and the Gohonzon I solved rapidly my inner and outer problems - in a very miraculous way. And I'm still practicing buddhism... But now, for health reasons, I need to practice again Yoga. I declare in advance that I don't like usual gym. I know Hatha Yoga almost well, but Kundalini is for me more easy - probably because I've practiced it for more time. But Kundalini Yoga is a "complete path" and, in some way, alternative to buddhism. This is my doubt: I like to do KY (and I've been doing it again for the last five months!), but I like as well to do Gongyo and, more, I am very grateful to buddhism! If I practice both, I've the doubt to do something wrong, expecially because I'm afraid it's impossible to do in the right way two things in the same time. Moreover I don't want to offend or devalue KY and Yogi Bhajan or the Gohonzon! On the other hand I think at a deep level there is no real difference between the two schools, so I can try to do my personal sistem, my particular form of integration of my experiences. Ok. I'm in a trouble! I'm very interested to your opinion... Anyway, thank you for your kind attention,:-) Maurizio
Guest guest
Dear Mauizio, Your English is fine. I understand. Our goal is consciously connect with the Divine. All paths lead us to the One. And they each work. You have been able to take advantage of two paths to faciliate your journey and that is great. It is important to be grateful for what each has to offer you and use what you need as you need it. You know inside what is perfect for you. Through the mantra Nam Myoho Renge Kyo and > the Gohonzon I solved rapidly my inner and outer problems - in a very > miraculous way. Yogi Bhajan used to tell people of all different paths -- do Kundalini yoga. It will make you a better Buddisht, better Christian, a better Moslem. On the other hand I think at a deep level there is no real > difference between the two schools, so I can try to do my personal > sistem, my particular form of integration of my experiences. * Go for it. The physical alignment will add greatly to your practice. > > Ok. I'm in a trouble! I'm very interested to your opinion... * You are not in trouble. You are blessed.
