Question on Chola Divya Desams

Hello all:

 

Happy Diwali.

 

My name is Vasudevan and I live in the U.S. I need some information on

the following Chola Divya Desams.

 

We are planning a trip to Tamil Nadu during Feb 15-28, 2007 and we plan

to visit Thirkkudanthai (Sarngapani and Chakrapani temples),

OppilliAppan Koil, Nacchiar Koil and Thirucherai. We are really

interested to know whether during this period Thirumanjanam is scheduled

in any of these Divya Desams.

Dear Sri VasudEvan :

 

At the dhivya dEsams that you plan

to visit , Thirumanjanams are not

scheduled on specific days as at

Srirangam ( Revathy , EkAdasi etc)

or on Fridays like at Thriumalai .

 

You would have to book a Thirumanjanam .

It will cost you 4,000 Rs for arranging a Thirumanjanam

for Moolavar at Oppiliappan Sannidhi . If by any chance ,

you arrive on a day when somebody has booked

a Thirumanjanam , Youc an enjoy it .Otherwise , you

would ahve to reserve the date .Some times more than

one group will be booking for the same date and in that

case the sanklapam will be taken collectively .

 

At Oppiliappan Sannidhi , You can book a Tanga Ratham

( Ride of the Uthsavars in a golden chariot drawn around the

VeLI prAkAram) . You can have RathnAngi sbvai for 1,000 Rs

or can have a ThirukkalyANam . All of these have to be booked

and planned ahead thru the temple ofice by phone or mail .
