INDIFFERENT TO THE CORE

 

After having received the causeless mercy and blessings EmperumAn, Kaliyan's longing to be with the LOrd eternally, grew in geometircal proportions. The LOrd, however, chose to be with HIm intermittently resulting in samslEsham -togetherness and vishlEsham (separation)alternately.

 

This mixed emotions at one point of time,leads AzhvAr to utmost frustrated situation and the thAyAr of parakAla nAyaki decides to report this to EmperumAn Himslef.

 

The words emanate thus " Oh! Lord. YOu are the most Supreme. She is the soul from this earth blessed by You and yearning for You. Be it. She has been enamoured by Your saulabhyam. However, now You prefer to be perched on Your supremacy and ignore her feelings. The fact that she is an ordinary one as compared to Your Supreme Being, is indeed true. This however has led to rank indifference from YOur side and this indifference is yielding more pain at this juncture"

 

This is anlaogous to the fact that a person wants to reach the other- say from Chennai to US.The chennai person gives a mail but there is no reply. The US man is always invisible in messenger. He never appears in skype or google talk.

 

If tried to be reached by phone, the bell rings on and on or is busy. If by chance the phone is attended, he is not available.

 

More or less Azvar is in such a situation.

 

The US person can always call up and mail the person to India whenver he wants. This complacent, nonchalant attitude transforms into Indifference

and this is indifference to the core.

 

AzhvAr narrates this indifference with all adages. This is too much for her, parakAla nAyaki's mother emphasises.
