Re: Ten stages of Love(zRGgaara) Posted by: "marina orelskaya" m_orelskaya m_orelskaya Tue Oct 17, 2006 9:39 am (PST) Dear Mr. Yasuhiro Okazaki, I have just finished my translation of the seventh chapter of Sangitaratnakara into Russian. And I believe that the source (or, at least, one of the sources) for this system is Bharata¢s Natyashastra. In the Chapter XXII (Parimal Publications, 1994, 3rd volume), all these avastha-s are described in great details (starting from verse 170). In other publications, I think, it is the Chapter XXIV. I also think that ¡kAmasUtre¢ in the text and ¡kAmaSAstre¢ in the commentary do not mean any particular treatise, but the ¡science of love¢ in general. Anyway, this system, with some different avastha-s, is also found in other texts on dance, f.e., in those ascribed to Nandikeshvara. Hope, this helps.
