Trouble with my son, exalted Guru (5:47) in the 12th Retro Shani

Dear Respected Members,

 

I am respectfully asking for help.

 

I am having difficulty with my son for the last couple of years. Our

relationship has become strained. We used to have a terrific

relationship, very close. He is also very close to his mother. I am

sure part of it is adolescence and testosterone, but it concerns me

as he is depressed quite a bit. Over the last couple of years he has

been experimenting with marijuana. It is not persistent use as I

drug test him on occasion, but I caught him again recently since the

new school year started a couple months ago. He is very bright, but

has lost interest in school. We had some serious trouble with his

older sister and he feels left out. He says no one understands, etc…

 

He is a very special child. He is mature beyond his age and has

always liked taking about philosophy and so forth. He has been a

strict vegetarian since he was 9 and he is a very peaceful child. He

actually chose to be a vegetarian without prompting, only after we

had discussions about it. I have only recently begun a vegetarian

diet, so it is really his personal commitment that sustained him for

7 years. However, lately he as had issues with a lot of anger.

 

I looked at his chart and I think it shows a lot of promise, if, and

that is if, he chooses to take advantage of it.

I think all the activity in the 12th provides a lot of promise for a

spiritual life and also the moon in the 10th. He seems to have these

tendencies. I think Saturn retrograde is his main challenge

contributes to the depression and Rahu in the 6th makes me nervous

and I think it influences the manner in which he handles the

depression. His school has been suffering and he says he simply does

not care.

 

His current dasha is Ma/Ve. I am really concerned about his Rahu MD

starting 4/2008.

 

Can anyone give me an idea of where he could be headed? I think I

feel pretty confident as he is very good at the core, but he needs

to get through this tough spot without getting stuck on drugs as a

way out. My concern is that he believes pot is not a big issue and

that when he is 18, he plans to smoke on occasion.

 

One really good thing is that recently he asked if he could start

going to yoga with me. He said he thinks that it would help with his

anger. He went we me a year ago for a couple of months, but was not

very interested at that time and stopped.

 

For a long time he wanted to be a lawyer (strong jupiter), but has

lost interest in college and career. I think this is Saturn® in

the 5th issue. I am not sure how to support him for his future. I

think according to his chart, he has the capacity to do something

along a spiritual path.

 

So in closing, any guidance on where he is headed and also any

guidance on helping me help him make some decisions for career.

raised him since he was 1.5 years old)
