Guest guest
this post is regarding understanding the fact in vastu that the golden temple in amritsar, bangla sahib and rakab ganj sahib gurudwaras in delhi has the same north-east entrance. why is this so, whereas temples and worship places are always advised to face east. that is really confusing. thanks
Guest guest
Dear Shri. Jaswinder: Though generally temples of olden days generally faced East direction, it was more out of a town-planning perspective....in those days, Vaastu for the whole settlement was planned by rulers before laying the foundation of a city/ town and temple was placed in the middle of the settlement, and dwellings were planned around that.... Otherwise, there is nothing wrong in a place of worship having entrance in the North East direction. In fact, ideally this should be the way it should be because North East is the direction assigned to Deities! The Golden Temple was inspired by the ideas of the Great Gurus and as such there can be no mistake in that! Blessed be. Guest guest
sir that is right the north east direction belongs to the Deities, but i have found one more reason that in sikhism the general people when they visit the worship place refered as deities, also guru has given the upper status than god, so the reason comes out that Deities (people) must enter from his direction and pay homage to the gurus. also you could find in sikhism that serving people is taken as service of god or guru. that may be the answer. vedic astrology, "dakshinastrologer" <dakshinastrologer wrote: > > Dear Shri. Guest guest
While there is no Vastu nor Jyotish teaching is included in Sikh Dharma, it is possible since the artisans and architectsmight have knowleldge of Vastu, hence th entrance was NE. Actually, there is no Vastu prohibition to create entrance in NE corner. Personally I think it is good becasuse Guru cast direction from tNE. Guest guest
Dear Sir , What is the source of your information that it is okay to have door towards North East ? The vastupurush mandal does not show any door towards NE . Indeed it does not show any door in any other that cardinal directions . Regards , Anand A. K. Guest guest
Dear Jaswinder, There are two possible replies to this question: One is the Vastu of a temple is applicable only to the ones where the deity is established in terms of Agama sutras. The others are merely Mandirs (whether belonging to a Hindu deity or not, say for eg., a Bhajan center where you Keep the photos of several deities) and they have no strict vastu principles. (so far as I know)except the general principles being enunciated in the modern books (which largely do not depend upon the scriptures, anyway) Since Golden temple is only a mandir and hence, the agama principles do not apply. The second way of looking at it is that ,the Parampara knowledge segregates the deities into 8 Vargas, each of the varga temples having the entrances into a different direction. Hnece, possibly, Amritsir temple might have fallen into the varga that requires the NE opening. To confirm, please let me know the closest semblence of Golden temple 's rituals with that of a Hindu deity. Guest guest
kishorji and anandji, i got so many answers regarding this mail, everybody sticked on the enterence point of view, but no body thought that when we enter the gurudwara premisis we see our guru(our holly book) and pay our homage facing south west direction. whereas guru is facing north east. hindu mythology say always pray facing east. if we follow vastu than it goes wrong with the hindu system of praying means facing sun. i asked my grandfather, even he was not sure but answer me that, we can't see the god directly but in our guru's face. so if guru is sitting facing north east than he gets the reflection of god from that holly direction and that is the only way we can see god as a reflection in our guru's face. i don't know what the truth is but my grandfather's logic was really logical. thanks. vedic astrology, "kishore patnaik" <kishorepatnaik09 wrote: > > Dear Jaswinder, > > There are two possible replies to this question: > > One is the Vastu of a temple is applicable only to the ones where the > deity is established in terms of Agama sutras.
