Guest guest
Namaste Today is the 1st day of the New Year. Happy New Year to all. Shree Maa sang a wonderfull song this morning after the group Chandi recitation: "Come, come Mother, stay in my heart, make a Happy New Year." It was a perfect song for the occassion. We had just completed reciting the Chandi as a group, lead by Swami. "Cut off the head of the great ego", we chanted, "destroy too much and too little we cried." "Come, come Mother", we cried, "only You can destroy the great ego." The ego, that terrible being who keeps us from our true nature. Who binds us in attachment, and sensory pleasures. Who keeps us so busy, we have forgotten who we are and why we are here on this Earth. That being who thrives on creating separations between us all, instead of unity and love with all creatures and creation. "Come, come Mother, stay in our hearts, make a happy new year", Shree Maa sang. And we joyously repeated the verse to Her. In the Chandi, Maa Chandi came because the fallen Gods and Goddesses cried out. They were overcome by thoughts, and they had been thrown out of Heaven. They roamed the Earth like mortals, miserable and defeated. So, They each gave a portion of their divine light, and gifts special to them, to manifest the Divine Mother Chandi, She Who Tears Apart Thought, who could destroy the great ego. And blinding all with Her beauty and holiness, She arose and took form. "What do you want?" She asked. And the Gods and Goddesses roared back to Her: "Come, Come Mother, stay in our hearts, make a happy new year. What more can we ask for? What else is there? The song was the perfect ending, or the perfect beginning of the Chandi. Living the Chandi in our lives. Living the truth of the Chandi. Chandi is in us, in our hearts, that part of us which knows no boundries, which speaks the language of universal love and devotion, which seeks to unify all into a loving family. "Come, Come Mother, stay in our hearts, Make a Happy New Year" A Divine mantra indeed. Jai Maa, Jai Swami, thanks for everything, thanks for manifesting in response to our ardent prayers and cries. love, your son, your child Vishweshwar
