Today is such a sad day to remember as Srila Prabhupada disappeared from our

external vision, one of the things that mitigates separation from Srila

Prabhupada is reading his letters. I recall in Vrindavan every day devotees put

a

letter on Srila Prabhupadas desk, and devotees after mongal artik would come to

 

Srila Prabhupadas house and pay obaisences

and chant there, it is such beautiful rooms.Srila Prabhupadas bed is there

still. All devotees would chant their gayatris given to them by Srila

Prabhupada or his disciples

(O mind, I grasp your feet and beg you with sweet words: Please cast away all

hypocrisy and develop intense, unprecedented love for my spiritual master,

Vrajabhumi, the people of Vraja, the Vaisnavas, the brahmanas, the Gayatri

mantra, the holy name, and the transcendental shelter that is the fresh young

couple of Vraja, Radha and Krsna. ,Manah Siksa vers 1), then read Srila

Prabhupada's letter that was places in front of Srila Prabhupadas murti, that

appears to

be eternally writing letters to his followers. These letters though written

many years ago appeared to be daily just written for our benefit. Everyone

would

read this letter like a daily message from Srila Prabhupada , from the GBC's

like Gopal Krsna Maharaja to all other devotees,sannyasis and even new

devotees, all eager to serve His Divine Grace.

There is a movie done by Yadubara Prabhu that shows the last moments and days

of Srila Prabhupada blessing this earth planet by His divine association and

presence. I highly recommend devotees to watch this every year on this day, it

will leave no eyes dry.

Srila Prabhupada left this world at an auspicious time, and appeared to be

like a second Bhismadeva,Srila Prabhupada also fought huge battles against

Maya's fierce representatives in the form of scientist, mayavadis , mundane

scholars and religionists, and leaving this world in Raman Reti, the place of

Krsna

Balaramas daily pastimes , I always try to envision that beautiful picture in

Srila Prabhupadas room , how Krsna and Balarama daily goes to the Yamuna

river with Their cows (or calves) passing by ISKCON Krsna Balarama mandir.

Also the Tamal tree in the courtyard is an ancient tree that was present

during Radha Krishnas manifest pastimes, and it is said Sri Radha would

sometimes

wait for Krsna here

with Her many associates, ready to serve their pastimes.

Srila Prabhupada has glorified Raman Reti in Srimad Bhagavatam and in his

lectures:

My dear friends, just see how this riverbank is extremely beautiful because

of its pleasing atmosphere. And just see how the blooming lotuses are

attracting bees and birds by their aroma. The humming and chirping of the bees

and

birds is echoing throughout the beautiful trees in the forest. Also, here the

sands are clean and soft. Therefore, this must be considered the best place for

 

our sporting and pastimes.

PURPORT

The description of Vr•nd•vana forest as given herewith was spoken by Kr•s•n•

a five thousand years ago, and the same condition prevailed during the time

of the Vais•n•ava •c•ryas three or four hundred years ago. K•jat-kokila-ham•

sa-s•rasa-gan••k•rn•e may•r•kule. Vr•nd•vana forest is always filled with

the chirping and cooing of birds like cuckoos (kokila), ducks (ham•sa) and

cranes (s•rasa), and it is also full of peacocks (may•r•kule). The same sounds

and atmosphere still prevail in the area where our Kr•s•n•a-Balar•ma temple

is situated. Everyone who visits this temple is pleased to hear the chirping of

 

the birds as described here (k•jat-kokila-ham•sa-s•rasa).

Srila Prabhupada also choose to perform many pastimes in Vrindavan, and we

get very sad to hear that some senior devotees neglect going to Vrindavan and

only go to Mayapure, this is Srila Prabhupadas home.

 

On this day we can remember Srila Prabhupadas , even the rooms of his

pastimes like his rooms in Radha Damodara temple, and by daily reading at least

one

his letters also (along with his books and lectures) we can take the vani

association of Srila Prabhupada ,

My Dear Madhudvisa Maharaja,

 

Please accept my blessings. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated

October 15, 1970.

 

I am so much pleases that you are carrying on the Street Sankirtana Party as

we have instituted in the Western countries even though you have sometimes

only one companion. This spirit is most satisfactory and this work is proven as

 

the basis of our successful movement in the United States, so please go on more

 

enthusiastically than ever with my blessings and you may rest assured that

Krsna will always help you in any difficulty.

 

Please keep the standard in our Calcutta center and certainly things will be

further increased by Krsna's grace.

 

Hope this will meet you in good health.
