Guest guest
Namaste' I would like to know how do I go about obtaining possible written information on establishing a cosmic altar and information on the Cosmic Puja. I am new to this practice and I do not have a computer at home and very limited using a computer at work. All suggestions are appreciated. Guest guest
Namaste Frances! Thank you for your interest and question! I think it would be easier to start with one or few dieties and let your altar grow -- Cosmic Altar represents the Infinite and has all many dieties - and it is hard for most of us to establish in our homes. So a practical way to start is to pick a diety (e.g. Divine Mother). Then find a picture of Her that appeals to you :-) You can search on the web and print it out even and then put Her in a frame. Or you may already have a picture or a murti -- You can place your object of devotion on a little table or stool and place a candle and incense holder near Her. You can keep a little bowl with flowers to offer to Her or a vase!!! Then you can read the Durga Beginner Puja - you can offer Her the light, incense and some flowers!! You can listen to Shree Maa saying this puja and chant along!!! It is simple, beautiful and fun! You don't need a computer - just the Durga Puja beginner book and CD (if you like). Swamiji, says our practice will grow organically! This is just a suggestion -- You should do whatever you like and feel comfortable doing! The most important thing is the love we feel in our heart for God - Swamiji says "It is your love affair with God." God is our own - We are God's own. Let us play, celebrate and love together that beautiful, pure Divinity!
