Guest guest
Haribol all matajis PAMHO. We had sanga last saturday in Takonin in the house of Nagendra dasi. We discussed around chanting japa. It was soon discovered that the more children one have the more difficult it is to find time to chant. It is a wellknown fact that mothers have difficulties so we thought it good to discuss this subject thoroughly and will continue next meeting as well. It is of course best to get up early but when the baby is awake at night and the other children dont allow you to take rest during the day its really tough if you dont have someone to help. Its a wonder that some mothers make it at all. Of course the younger unmarried girls make big eyes when we talk about this and hopefully they will be better situated and have support from both family and community when their time comes to have babies. All of us agreed that our japa can be greatly improved and we recalled times of better chanting, usually along intense service like bookdistribution and puja etc. Of course family duties is very good in regards to keep oneself regulated and there is not much time left for some selfish hobbies. Since marriage is is a religious wow as well as a material duty it is a very safe situation as long as we follow the principles and chant our rounds. It will keep us chaste and protected so it is easy to understand why Srila Prabhupada wanted all matajis to be married. "Quote" from Srila Prabhupada letter 16 feb 1972 to Chaya dasi: You ask about marriage, yes, actually I want that every woman in the society should be married. "end of quote" There are many matajis who for various resons have been abadoned with children to look after. To them we have to be extra supportive and accomodating in the devotee congregation since our ISKCON centers rarly have opportunity to accomodate them. We decided to all try to chant more attentive and register our realizations until next meeting as well as to find quotes on the subject matter. Any comment or scriptual quote from anybody is most welcome. Until then haribol your servant Mitravinda dd
Guest guest
Dear Mitravinda devi, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Thank you for the quote. > "Quote" from Srila Prabhupada letter 16 feb 1972 to Chaya dasi: > > You ask about marriage, yes, actually I want that every woman in the society > should be married. "end of quote" Srila Prabhupada wanted to see all women in ISKCON married, and for those who were not, he quoted the verse of Bhagavad-gita 9.32 and said, "If he takes Krsna very seriously, then everything is possible... Krsna devotional service is so strong that it cannot be checked by any material impediments." Your servant, Jagannathesvari devi dasi.
