Guest guest
Namaste The book title from my post Wednesday evening is: "SETTING LIMITS WITH YOUR STRONG WILLED CHILD", BY ROBERT J. MACKENZIE I hope this book is helpful to all parents and their children. I have to add that the use of mantras, pujas, and other spiritual activites you engage in can greatly benefit all members in the family. Any action which can lead to balance will benefit the family. One time, when my son began to act unbalanced, Shree Maa suggested that his Jyotish chart be completed. Once it was read, it showed that certain plantary influences were out of balance. In order to bring balance, it was suggested that certain mantras be used, along with a fire ceremony, and balance would be restored. My wife and I took a sankalpa, {made a committment}, and performed the tasks for his benefit, and balance was restored. His behavoirs changed and he became happier and more balanced. Last week, Shree Maa said I need to become more balanced. The next thing I know I am sitting in Swami's class of the Cosmic Puja. And guess what? the entire puja is about becoming balanced, on every level of life, with every impulse and manifestation of existance. What a blessing. This is how things happen at the Devi Mandir. There is a need, and God sends the impulse to fulfill the need. All you have to do is be present and willing to do the work. Balance is needed in every sphere of life. Especially while raising a family and helping your children. Balance between Brahma-the creator, Vishnu-the maintainer, and Shiva-lord of transformation, balance between the 3 gunas - Rajas, Sattwa, and Tamas, balance between you and the 9 planets, whatever action you perform, try to keep your balance, and impart balance to your children. In fact, balance will automatically be imparted onto your children when you are with them. Whenever I felt balanced, my relations with my grandchildren were smoother than when I was out of balance. Shree Maa and Swami have given us many techniques to become balanced in our lives. We just have to pick one and start practicing. If we are uncertain where to begin, Maa always suggests worshipping Shiva. As the Guru of all Gurus, and the lord of sankalpa, firm determination, he will bring us the proper ways and means to solve our problems and fulfill our desires. Swami said to me once, when you call any God, all must come together. That is the arrangement. So, pick up a sripture, get comfortably composed, put a picture of the object of your worship on the table, light a candle and some incense, and begin. Whether you read in English or Sanskrit, God is listening. Read with pure devotion, offer a candle, and a glass of water, and a flower to the picture of your Diety, and the universal language of love and devotion will announce your pure intentions and God will come. Jai Maa Jai Swami love Vishweshwar
