Guest guest
Dear All , It is my pleasure to bring to this audience the Four types of Silence from Gurubani , Sikhism, a sister Religion. All types of Silence can be summed up in the following four categories The silence of speech The silence of senses The silence of violent restraint The silence of false ego or deluded mind Now , i would request the holy members of this satsangha to elaborate on these four types of 'Silence' based on teachings from Advaita . ( any quotations from Srimad Bhagwat Gita , Upanishads or Adi Shankara's bhasyas are welcome.) Please follow the KISS principle -keep it simple and straight! In passing , A man once asked Rumi, "why is it you talk so much about silence?" His answer: "The radiant one inside me has never said a word." Love and Regards ps - btw , i apologize for using capital letters in my other posts - i was not 'shouting' - being a poor typist, i forgot to turn my cap lock off! i apologize.
