Guest guest
Hello every one I am new to kundalini yoga and was wondering about repressed anger. I have read that it is possible to clear anger that you have built up since you were in the woom. I am wondering how I can do that when I was a child the theory of my parents was to apply the rod and not to spoil the child. The problem is that I don't have any childhood memories until I was about 12 years old, and not many of them. I am wondering if anyone can refer me to any links/books to help me to do this. Guest guest
Hi Stephen >I have read that it is possible to clear anger that you have > built up since you were in the woom. I am wondering how I can do that I have recently started doing the set described on this list, the message that explained how to do it was I think from August 9th. I've been doing it for 10 days now. Sometimes I get weird body sensations while doing it, or have meaningful dreams after, or right before I'm going to do it I recall something that I was so angry about from years before. For example one time before I did the breathing I remembered a time years ago when I was riding in my friend's car with the window open, we were stopped at a stop sign and a man ran up and sprayed something in my face (which turned out to be water, fortunately). I have PTSD from childhood violence, so needless to say it was not a warm, fuzzy experience for me. My friend drove off, so I was not able to get out of the car and kill the man, which is exactly what I would have done. That may sound harsh, but that was exactly how I felt at that time and even remembering it years later. It was a combination of being shocked, having someone else assault me by spraying something in my eyes, and being completely helpless to do anything about it because someone else was driving. That's just not a good combination for me, anger-wise. I promise you given the opportunity I would have beaten him to death. I didn't focus on that experience in the breathing per se, just noticed remembering it and did the meditation. The next day when I checked back in I was able to think about the whole experience without getting angry at all. Pretty miraculous. Guest guest
Try mahan gyan mudra 11mins. Find it online do a search. It´s is very effective for erasing anger and childhood trauma which you may have forgotten but is probabely still a real part of you energetically. I´ve done it everyday almost for three years. It should be preceeded by sat kriya to awaken energy and nabhi kriya to contain for a couple of months. Then attempt it and ride the wave of higher consciousness throughout your day after 11mins of practice. Take care, Chris Stephen <stephen_1952 (AT) sympatico (DOT) ca> wrote: Hello every one I am new to kundalini yoga and was wondering about repressed anger. Guest guest
Sat Nam, I would recommend seeking out a "Transactional Analysist" therapist. They are directly trained in working with the inner child wounding that occurs in childhood at the level of cause. Anger is a response to not having our needs met...and if a child's need are not met by it's parents and there is no venue for the child to express it's anger as it arises in childhood, never mind have it's needs met.... it turns into rage as an adult. This kind of therapy in conjunction with KY is beneficial. There is a set in the Reaching me in me" manual that works to balance the two hemisperes of the brain and eliminate subconscious memories...pg. 31 I find it helpful. You can also look at John bradhsaw's book of which i can't recall the full title right now, but it's something like "healing and Championing Your Inner Child". It has lots of re-parenting meditations within it and also gives a clear break down of what kind of affirmations are needed from parents at different stages of growth, in order for the child to grow up and mature into an emotional balanced adult, capable of giving and recieving love.
