Dear all,

there is a new group dedicated to Jesus Christ and Ramana Maharshi,

the sage of Arunachala. It is interfaith, but its purpose is the

inner attitude of contemplation/prayer/atma vichara (self-inquiriy)

including the Heart Prayer, the Philokalia and the Christian Mystics

together with the teaching of Sri Ramana Maharshi, who is much in

the same line. At times there may also be meditations on icons of

the Orthodox Church.

It is meant as a group for practicers to deepen their spiritual

practice, also share about it in a silent atmosphere of same-minded

people.

The foundation of this group is a personal heart-matter. Let's see.

I recently read "A Search In Secret India" by Paul Brunton. Brunton was an early 20th century...1920's or so...British spiritual seeker who traveled throughout India and finally came to rest in Sri Ramana Maharshi's ashram. Brunton spent a period of time in the association of this saint, and by his own account attained transcendental insight.

Sri Ramana Maharshi's statement that "there is neither destiny, nor free will" has a certain magnificence and majesty and grace and hints at the Heart, the Self-Knowledge, "The Original Face" whose very essence is that of Freedom. Sat-Chit-Ananda-Nityam-Poornum!
