Guest guest
Mantras are to be delivered and received abhimukath - face to face - with the guru and sishya. It is also the best "karnath-karna" the disciple hears the mantra from the guru. Certainly the Guru should be a capable person who can transmit the total energy of that particular mantra to the Sishya when he initiates him. Otherwise the whole process becomes useless. This is what saints say. Opinion differ but there cannot be any breach of the law. For instance people believe in lalitha sahasranama but do not care for the phala sruthi.
