Guest guest
Namaste, firstly, I would like to send my greetings to all the devotees of this wonderfull . Over the past few weeks I have been listenening over and over to the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam sung by Shree Maa. I am still overwhelmed by the beauty in which it is sung and the true meaning of it. What i would like to know is if anyone knows the 'story' of when this Ashtakam was originally composed. I once heard of there being songs of praises sung to Maha Lakshmi when She emerged from the churning of the ocean. Thanks for any Information. Guest guest
Greetings to you, Gyandesh! I don't have a clue, but I bet Swamiji does... Mother's bhaava really shines in her music, doesn't it? I continue, as I have for some years now, to sleep with the sounds of The Songs of Ramprasad playing in the backround. As to the songs of praise sung by the gods at the churning of the ocean, I would imagine those praises were too rarified for ears such as ours. Jai Maa!
