What a funny day...

1st.. I get a ticket on my car... E50... that's maybe 60 bucks...

then... I drop my mobile on its little head.. bonk..

starts doing funny things...like showing the screen upside down and backwards,,,.. basically unusable..so I bonked it on the head a few times..tried again.. still no good..

ok...those are the two big bummers of the day,,,

then.... I went to the Parking Service where I'm trying to get a permit... make up a lie and tell them that I had just run inside my home to get a few things.. and ..slap.. a ticket.. ( I had parked overnight and most of the previous day in game of chicken the tickets people) (I'm sorry I lied)

wow... miracle numero een..

then.. I took the little mobile.. who will be called bunky from now on... to the cell phone shop... while waiting for service I decided to turn it ...on to save time..

you guessed it.. good old bunky was right side up again..

this is all very scary... holloween pranks... but I'm prepared to be as grateful and full of wonder as all the little knots allow...

are we sacred (scared) of the wonder?

tune in for the next installment of the here and now..

Hi Sam,

Having been diagnosed with cancer, aneurysms, and other stuff, I

find it difficult to sympathise with your annoyances.

I suggest you lead an honest life, don't park where you shouldn't or

lie and connive. And count your blessings and be a blessing to

others.

Best wishes,

Richard

Quite understandable, but from my perspective, the focus was not on sympathy,

but on gratitude and wonder, however humble that experience might be.

(Similar to "counting your blessings") I guess it's all a matter of perception. ;)

Sam, I think most of us read your email as without harm--lighthearted

and appreciative. Those of us who have known Sam's posts around here

awhile have that fuller context of knowing him to be consistently kind

and goodhearted.

Dear Jill,

Thanks for being here. Here is one of your favorite poems by *Emily

Dickinson.*

*You'll know it--as you know 'tis Noon--

*You'll know it -- as you know 'tis Noon --

By Glory --

As you do the Sun --

By Glory --

As you will in Heaven --

Know God the Father -- and the Son.

By intuition, Mightiest Things

Assert themselves -- and not by terms --

"I'm Midnight" -- need the Midnight say --

"I'm Sunrise" -- Need the Majesty?

Omnipotence -- had not a Tongue --

His lisp -- is Lightning -- and the Sun --

His Conversation -- with the Sea --

"How shall you know"?

Consult your Eye!

So Dear Ones,

In light of the Light, let there be Light for all in the moment

of 'darkness'. Love and Blessings.

Wow, Harsha,

You have an amazing memory. It was maybe 6 or 7 years ago that I

asked someone here what poem that middle part was from--'by intuition,

Mightiest Things...' I was going to use it on the syllabus for a

painting course. Thanks for the gift. :)

Thanks for this Jill. I thought this morning of writing a letter of apology to Harsha and the list for that silly post.

By the way, for followers of the mysterious ways of karma. The phone did die again... this time for good.

And when I went back to the Parking Service the nice man who asked me to bring the ticket in was not there.

Thanks for the Peace wishing and the same to all creatures.

Well Richard it worked. I 'decided' to pay the parking ticket after all. I didn't feel like lying.

So thank you.

Hi Sam,

I didn't mean any harm either. I used to get annoyed at daily

inconveniences and now see them as insignificant. I was

overdramatically trying to give you another perspective....what I know

now and wish I knew then.

Sorry for my lack of personal skills.

Hi Richard

And so you have been given the gift of equanimity through your trials and

tribulations. It seems to me that there really is no other way in which to gain

this "perspective". We all wish we could endow others with the wisdom that

life has taught us, and we wish we could somehow absorb the wisdom of others

without having to outlive our own ignorance, but one thing our children teach

us is that this can never be so. But of course, as I'm demonstrating here, we

never quite give up trying. Hehe.

Respectfully rambling,

Phil

Dear Friends: Please keep in mind that taking someone's creative and inte

llectual works (poetry, art, articles, essays, posts, etc.) without permission

of the authors is a violation of copyright laws. This especially applies to

this list, , as it is a private list which can be viewed by

members only.

Most individuals do allow their artistic and creative work to be posted

elsewhere if you request it and use their work in a not-for-profit format for

benefit of others. So that is not usually a problem.

However, if you are taking content from this list with a profit motive (such

as promotion of your site in order to sell products, ads, etc.), it is

critical that you seek the explicit and written permission from the authors whose

works you are using.

Acting in any other way is dishonest. Thank you.
