It is a registered organization with the main objective to promote and preserve the ancient art of Bharatanatyam and the vocal music of South Indian [Carnatic]. Laasya, meaning `graceful' has staged several productions including dance drama for children elaborating on mythological and historical themes. Besides that Laasya Art School have been working closely with several other organizations to create a process of broadening and awareness in dance and music of South India. This year in commemoration of our 3rd anniversary we present Muruga Charanam. It will be a festival of dance drama and music performed by the students of Laasya Arts; choreographed by Shrimati Guruvayur Usha Ramachandran [ founder and principal ], as our tribute to Lord Muruga. Details of performance are as follows : Date 9th December, 2006 Venue Malaysia Tourism Centre [MTC] Tunku Abdul Rahman Auditorium 109 Jalan Ampang, K.L Time 5.30 pm Admission is by ticket. We realize that learning is an endless process and art helps one to experience the joy of progress in life. We like to share this joy with the less fortunate as part of our contribution to the society.
