Acharyas can either be Anuvrithi Prasannacharya or Krupamatra Prasannacharya. Anuvrithi Prasannacharya are those Acharyas who expect the devoted and effortfull prayers of sishyas and if pleased with their prayers would accept them, but Krupamatra Prasannacharyas on the other hand are those who neither expect prayers from sishyas nor would examine their qualifications, but would just shower their merciful grace and pour their teachings. Our Lokacharya is one of the Krupamatra Prasannacharya, who bore the apostleship for the blessed dispensation Emberumanar Darshanam after Vadakku Thiruveedhi Pillai in the hierarchy of Acharya Paramparai. He abolished the darkness of this world by lighting it with his Divine Shrisuktis. This Acharya is a composite of 2 Oceans. One being the Ocean of Gnyana and Anushtana and other being the Ocean of Mercy. Lokacharya is well known for his works the Ashtadasa Rahasyas (18 hidden truths). In this work he speaks about each and every aspect of our faith (Vishishtadvitam) in a true, clear and detailed manner. The knowledge about our Siddhantham will remain vague and incomplete, if one does not master the 18 Rahasyas with its deeper meanings. The Rahasyas describe the roles of Jeevathma & Paramathma, their bondages, chith, achith, eashwar tatvas, the lakshnas of Acharyas and Sishyas, the lakshanas of Prapanna, mumukshu, the path Jeevathma takes to attain salvation, the truths embedded in the Ethihasams, Puranas, the Holy life of Azhwars and Acharyas. This Acharya not only spent his holy life in penning down Granthas, but also did the magnanimous task of protecting the protectee of Universal Lord Azhagia Manavalan from the muslim invation. He did both Pramana and Prameya rakshakam. Lokacharya is said to be the of incarnation of Lord Varadha of Kanchi.
