Guest guest
Sat Nam I need help in that I am very sensitive to my daughter's energy. I am wondering if their is a kriya or meditation (or both) that will help with this. I posted this question about 3 weeks ago and may have missed the responses-my apologies in advance. It is almost like having a ghost in the room-not that I have one. I can be plugging along at something and then be acutely aware of a bolus of energy. This has been occuring for 6-7 months. At first it was confusing because I couldn't understand why MY mood changed and why I felt out of sorts. The energy doesn't make me feel confused any more because I have come to recognize what it is but I still physically feel it. This situation is so hard to put into words-I hope someone can help me. Thank you Sat Sangat
Guest guest
I was always very aware of my daughter's energy too. Actually, everyone near her was as she has such a strong personality and she influences the moods of everyone around her. I just taught her simple grounding methods and that helped but I can still tell her moods and I use that to be a better parent. If I know what mood she is in then I know more about her day and if she needs to talk about anything, etc and how to help her mood rule her day. I hope that helps. Guest guest
Sat Sanagt, Chant Ek Ong Kar - http://sahej.com/Ek-Ong-Kar.html - in the 2 1/2 breath Cycle (11 minutes is good but you can go all the way up to 2 1/2 hours). Really pull the navel on the "Ek" and again on the "Sat". Then Tune in with the Adi Mantra. Do a full yoga set or some basic warm-ups as a preparation for Sat Kriya - 11 to 31 minutes ( http://www.sahej.com/Sat_Kriya.html ). This sensitivity is a great thing. The challenge is in integrating it and being able to decipher it's subtlety. Having a toned, solid and "strong" center (not to be equated with abs of steel) is a necessity when one you have great sensitivity. Do a lot of Sat Kriya! The cool thing about Sat Kriya is it works with the Fire element and gives it a place to go rather than inward. It "rewires" the Pitta and allows for it to burn cleaner and calmer as it manifests as Tejas or Tapa. You can follow this with Kirtan Kriya and then Sodarshan Chakra Kriya - http://www.sahej.com/Sodarshan.html Are you a Pisces by any chance? Guest guest
Hi Sat Sangat, I noticed that when I began a regular meditation practice, I was much more aware and affected by others moods, especially those I cared for the most. There is a certain level of detachment that I have had to cultivate and I have done this by trying to go into the feeling instead of resisting, making it my own. Guest guest
Dear Sat Sangat: You are very connected to your daughter. But we will all be that connected with each other in the Aquarian age. It just takes time. In the case of your daughter she may be needing something from you and that's why it feels that powerful. She is sending you her energy in that way because she does not know how else to ask. What I would do is meditate on what she needs or talk to her and have a conversation about the two of you and see where it leads you. It's about connecting at a deeper level. Enjoy the quest! Guest guest
Sat Nam Thank you, Jennifer and Dharam, for the sage advice. I will incorporate the kriyas into my practice and let you know how things are going. I am a Taurus (May 14) but my daughter is a Pisces (March 8). She has been going to counseling for 6 months and I have encouraged her to meditate etc but she is of the age (13) where her parents and counselor are considered novices in the matters of life. I have always been attuned to her energy but it has been intensified lately to the point where it is hard for me to maintain linear thought processes during her extreme moods. I have sought solice in solitude for regeneration but it has been ineffective and short lived. I am truly grateful for your help. Sat Sangat Low, Low, Low Rates! Guest guest
Sat Nam, This topic is one I have pondered for sometime, I was wondering what characteristics of a person allow their energy to be very strong? In what way are they sending it that is different to others for it to have such an effect? Is there something different about their aura? I think I am sending my energy this way and it is not always a good thing, people seem to be able to read you very easily. Any additional information on the area would be greatly appreciated, regards Lynette kundalini_yoga (AT) hotmail (DOT) com wrote: Dear Sat Sangat: You are very connected to your daughter. Guest guest
Dear Lynette: You asked: "I think I am sending my energy this way and it is not always a good thing, people seem to be able to read you very easily. Any additional information on the area would be greatly appreciated" Become aware of your own energy and how you think of reaching out to others with it. Awareness and accepting your own feelings toward things and people and events are the key and then becoming more and more subtle with your own sensitivity to how you use your energy. It is all about not being aware of oneself. Even someone who does not want to know their feelings cannot hide them from others. They are so easy to read in some ways. They attract exactly what they fear the most and then fight against it! So strange but true! Another aspect of this is this: Yogi Bhajan said that if you let go of ego, people cannot read you anymore and then they think you are God. Enjoy your self discovery! I am deeply aware of my ego and the way it affects others. I just don't know how to let go off it. I have a deep desire to change this aspect of me and be a better person, a better colleague. What specific kriyas and meditations will help me overcome my ego problems. Theresa
