Guest guest
Dear Parvati, thank you for your kind words. It is very difficult to describe how the establishment of the pot went, but perhaps it will encourage someone to learn this, so I'll do my best. As it was my first, I was a little nervous the whole day. I know Swamiji says that you shouldn't spend time looking for things instead of performing the puja, but I found myself in the marketplace selecting flowers and fruit and other offerings, and I felt like I was going to give a party! Anyway, when I finally got to do the puja and reached the unfamiliar bit where we start establishing the pot, I had to consult the book a lot and I was afraid of forgetting something or doing things wrong, so I was struggling a bit and did not feel festive at all. I had a lot of problems holding the book in one hand and trying to decorate the coconut with the other, and having to put the book down but not on the floor etc.etc. But when the pot was established and decorated and I recited the prana pratishta sukta things changed. I cannot say much about it except that I suddenly felt to the core of my being every word of that hymn. No difference between what is in the pot and what is in me. It was a sudden and very moving experience, and it went away as quickly as it came. I finished the puja, wondering what happened, which was a bit of a distraction. After the puja I sat with my pot for a while, and we were smiling at each other. It was very sweet. I am very grateful to Nandaji for teaching us the first steps on the puja path, to you for teaching us some more, and to Swamiji for teaching us how to establish the pot, precisely at the time when I felt ready to go further. You cannot go forward unless you know where you want to go and unless someone shows you how to get there. I feel very privileged that I have been led to Shree Maa, who is Inspiration and Destination, and to Swamiji, who tirelessly and generously leads the way, Jai Maa, Jai Swamiji, Henny - In , sara swati <parv108 wrote: > > Dear Henny, > Very beautiful! > It was a great surprise and JOY to see > your big coconut and altar!
