RESTORE TO NORMALCY

 

paNDu paNDu pOle okkum

 

Kaliyan not bearing the separation pleads for restoration to normacly. As Sri VuRangAvilli dhAsar did for vENdar and SuNdAr by applying thoNdar adippodi, Kaliyan requests for ThiruthuzhAi from devotees- not ordinary devotees-sRevaishNavic devotees-who are expecting nothing from EmperumAn but Himself and kainkaryam unto Him

 

mikka sEr thoNdar itta pUnthuLavin vAsamEa

 

thONdar are just devotees-sEr thONdar -devotees of the Lord

mikka sEr thoNDar -devotees of EmpeurmAn who seek only Him.

 

Now a question is asked. What is restoration point? How much rollback should be done?

 

Now parakAla nayaki is in a state of separation. The earlier point was a state of bliss with EmperumAn. If this point is being restored then again

separation would ensue.

 

So why this restoration ? To suffer again?

 

Here the vyAkyana karthA explains this wonderfully. First AzhvAr did not have thoughts on EmperumAn. He did not realise the loss nor suffer this separation problems.

 

So the plea is for resoration to that stage -

keNdai oN kaNNum thuyilum

en niRam paNdu paNdu pOle vokkum

mikka SEr thoNDaritta 11-1-9;

 

Azvar does not say just paNdu pOle okkum

if it is paNdu pOle it would be - the earlier stage of unison-temporary to be ensued by long separation.

 

paNdu -paNdu is the still earlier stage of happiness of not realising Him at all and

the resultant oblivion from pangs of separation
