Guest guest
Dear Felixe: You asked me: "Would the complete version of the Adi Mantra be good or do you suggest something else." Sure it is always good. but truly I don't know how to answer because I don't know your purpose except to not wake up your family with chanting out loud. What I need to know is what you wish to achieve with meditation and yoga for yourself. Blessings, Awtar
Guest guest
Dear Awtar, Thank you for your thoughtfulness and question. Previously I did 1 1/2 years of Hatha with an instructor. The Hatha experience was at the suggestion of an M.D. friend of mine regarding a small medical problem. Hatha resolved the problem and too I liked the energy and mental clearness it gave me. However, the sessions were linked to an academic calendar ie. nothing offered in the summer. So I practiced what little I knew alone. Then fooling around on the net I found Guru Rattana's free lessons and started to follow them. I bought the beginers book, "Journey to a Heart Felt Center", Yogi Bhajan's book "The Power of the Spoken Word" and began to follow the lessons as outlined in the beginers book and "Journey to a Heart Felt Center". I liked the emphasis on breathing techniques and so I stuck with my solo practice of KY; not returning to the Hatha lessons. There are no KY instructors where I live so I practice alone and I presume to be technically limited. Although the physical instruction seems clear to me, I'm never confident that I'm pronouncing the words to a mantra correctly or getting the rhythm down as it should be. You asked me: "What I need to know is what you wish to achieve with meditation and yoga for yourself". Firstly I'm ending up the set with meditation because Guru Rattana's book suggests it and the vibration idea appeals to me. I intuitively as well as intellectualy know that vibration is life at its core. Secondly what I hope to acheive is to open the doors to life as wide as I can and live as fully as possible like a man. Then when it's time; die like a man. So, in a nut shell I strive for openess and stamina. I'm honored by your attention. I follow some of the messages of the KY group and your comments have always been measured and deeply considered.
