Question on Cosmic Puja and Tattva Jnana

The classes on Cosmic Puja are coming up on the section for

the Brahma Puja. I have a question regarding Brahma Puja

as it relates to something found in the book Tattva Jnana

by Swamiji and Shree Maa.

Tattva Jnana indicates that there are five principal deities

to whom devotion can be offered. These five are given as

Shiva, Vishnu, Shakti (the divine Mother), Ganesha, and

Surya and the Nine Planets.

Why these five? Why is Brahma not included? Given that

Brahma is not in the list of deities to whom devotion can

be offered, why does the Cosmic Puja nevertheless include

Brahma Puja?
