Namaste

We had a wonderful discussion on-line Saturday 9:30 AM and Sunday 4:30

PM about sutra #1 of the Kasyapa Sutras. This is in the book

entitled,: "The Guru and the Goddess", page 11. It is available at

the Devi Mandir website at the bookstore.

This powerful sutra sparked a lively discussion about "right" action

in this world, or how to act in this world without creating more karma

for oneself.

At the conclusion of the discussion, we all agreed that we have to be

more conscious of how we act, and how we react to the stimulis which

comes our way. If we discriminate, or "stop, look, and listen",

before we respond to a stimulis, we are more likely to act in a manner

which will propel us towards our goal, rather than to react in haste

with emotion, which will create more karma which we will have to deal

with.

We all agreed to keep a log for the week until our next discussion of

sutra #2 this weekend. Also, we waned to share our experiences and

support each other in this forum.

Each day we will make a goal to change a certain behavior, or one goal

for the week, and daily we will,"stop, look, and listen", prior to

performing any action which will not lead us towards our goal.

For example, I wish to avoid eating a certain food because it makes me

ill, but I really like its taste.

So, every time the impulse arises to taste that food, I will "stop,

look, and listen", and then decide on what action to perform.

In this way, we hope to cultivate the quality of discrimination so

that we perform only life supporting activity, aimed at life

supporting goals.

As Shree Maa has suggested, we will review our actions of the day

prior to bed, and upon reflection, will make goals for the next day.

Recording these experiences, and goals, in our spiritual log, or

diary, will help us focus on a positive outcome.

I hope you will all join us. This will be a very powerful spiritual

practice.

Jai Maa Jai Swami

love
