Guest guest
Namaste Everybody, Here is a worksheet for us based on Kashyapa sutra # 1. If you like to join us, please take as much (or as little) time you have to record everyday - it will be great if we can share our learnings with each other! Hope it helps us all to take steps towards Consiousness of Infinite Goodness!!! Thank you very much for your participation and being on this journey together - words can't express how much it helps to travel and learn and love together! Jai Maa! Thank you! Worksheet 1 Prarabdha Vasat Janam: Birth is dependent on the prarabdha karma 1. What is my goal for this week? We want to fix a goal that is concrete and measurable (e.g. if we want more pure devotion, we know that it helps to do more sadhana, so we set a goal in terms of what sadhana program we will follow). Only if our goal is tangible and measurable can we measure our progress, correct and improve. Some examples to choose from: Increasing will power (Sitting longer in asana - how much longer?) Increasing stamina (e.g. exercising - what, how much) Being conscious of speaking (e.g., not gossiping) Being conscious in eating (e.g., not eating dessert twice!) Doing regular sadhana (What will this be? Make time table) My goal is ______________ _______ Each day we can fill out the following questions: 2. What helped me come closer to the goal? 3. What are obstructions? 4. What is my learning from today - What will I do differently tomorrow? 5. How did yesterday's learning help me today? Thank You! Jai Maa! Guest guest
Many thanks Srini and Ramya for the inspiring class on Kashyap sutra #1 as outlined in the Guru and the Goddess text and the goal setting worksheet. Recently I was thinking how Shree Maa always says: "Don't waste time!" Your goal setting idea fits perfectly with an idea that came to me a few days ago. The goal is that whenever I catch my mind engaging in useless thoughts I will immediately recite a mantra. This will be a more efficient use of time. What do you think? May our goals help us move closer towards the Consciousness of Infinite Goodness. Guest guest
namaste dear family, i was able to "watch" the Kasyapa sutra discussion, but not participate.....I was having a hard time defining a specific and manageable goal for this week. in the ensuing posts, I realized that the goal for me is one that is for several others, also....silence. Shree Maa has suggested to me in the pst that i speak less and so here we go! I will be conscious of opnening my mouth and discriminate whether it is necessary to speak or if a silent mantra would not do the trick. How wonderful it is to share together and make goals together and grow together. Guest guest
Namaste Gauri, Kalachandra, Parvati, Vish, Vishnu, Henny and everybody!!! Its so wonderful to try to make a goal and track it...i also made my goal to be conscious in my speech - like Gauri, Henny and Vish! And this is what i learnt from the first day of practice. There are three ways in which i end of speaking when i don't need to: (a) start a conversation - i say one sentence "unconsciously" and it ends up in a long conversation (b) Join on-going conversations - Even if no one is calling me, sometimes is seems so "interesting" the topic - and i have so many "important" opinions that i just have to "talk" © Someone asks me something - and instead of just answering that, giving long background and going to other topics!! All this i learnt from observation these last two days. i am praying to Mother to help to act more consciously and speak words of truth and kindness when needed! :-) Jai Maa! Please feel free to give suggestions or share your learnings too, so we can grow together! ramya , "gauri_108" <gauri_108 wrote: > > namaste dear family, > > i was able to "watch" the Kasyapa sutra discussion, but not > participate.....I was having a hard time defining a specific and > manageable goal for this week. in the ensuing posts, I realized that > the goal for me is one that is for several others, also....silence. > Shree Maa has suggested to me in the pst that i speak less and so here > we go! Guest guest
Many thanks for the opportunity to be part of this class. It is truly making a difference. The major goal for me was discrimination in disturbing instances but somehow i found myself just repeating a Kali mantra of course they were breaks but as soon asthe consciousness returned the mantra would commence again. Today there was an small incident at work and i was nearby when it occured. Later, as the silent witness observing how these 2 seconds of words were blown way out of proportion, i was able to reflect and realize how soft words and due respect can make a major difference to a situation. My second goal is to post everyday. This goal was set before and i faltered very badly so i figure if i can make a promise on a weekly basis for the 7 weeks of this blessed class the bigger goal of frequent posting will come easier. Thanks to all you souls who are as a garland of inspiration. Pranams Jai Maa
Guest guest
Namaste Kali, Parvati and everybody, Thanks so much for sharing Kali and Parvati for the great goal of chanting mantra to keep mind at rest -- always! Yesterday, before the Cosmic Puja Class Swamiji was testing the audio system. He said "Om Aim Hrim Klim Chamundayai Vicce. This is a test." Then He said, "Yes, it is THE test. If we can remember." Seemed like He was reiterating what we are all discussing - staying with the mantra, remembering God, no harsh words, no angry thoughts....only God, only Love! If you have any tips on how to remember all the time - to chant a mantra, please can you share and help? What helps you to remember? How can we not forget? Thank you very much! Guest guest
Namaste Ramya, What works for me is listening to Maa's singing or Swamiji chanting one of the Gitas. Since my job entails lots of sitting, I have a little CD player and am able to listen to Her CDs while working. When I move away from the desk for a period of time and I find thoughts creeping in I try to make a conscious effort to chant I also keep a set of beads in my handbag or vehicle, i mostly leave them in the car seat where I must move them to sit, once they are in hand then it is time to chant. Also in doing chores at home chanting comes easy as the chores are done without a lot of effort as the mind is taken away so to speak. Having said all this, there are many, many times when i do forget but making to effort each time we remember should help. Guest guest
Jai Maa Kali and Everybody! Thanks so much Kali for your helpful tips. In the Cosmic Puja Class # 22 (It is on www.shreemaa.org), Swamiji was telling us that our objective is to Conscious all the time -- To remember!! I really wanted to ask Him "How to remember?" He said something to the effect - that we do formal worship (Like Cosmic Puja) and remember and as we keep doing we remember informally -- i.e., all the time! He said that He does puja in the temple and in the office by the computer - it is all worship, all remembrance!!!....All the time! Jai Maa! Thank you everybody for sharing your thoughts on your goal to become more conscious this week! Looking forward to seeing you online in the class over the weekend! ramya , "kaliananda_saraswati" <kaliananda_saraswati wrote: > > Namaste Ramya, > > What works for me is listening to Maa's singing or Swamiji chanting > one of the Gitas. Guest guest
Jai Kali! Kali said, "I also keep a set of beads in my handbag or vehicle, i mostly leave them in the car seat where I must move them to sit, once they are in hand then it is time to chant." What a fabulous idea! The minute you instinctively pick up the beads the ego is "tricked" into being quiet for a bit while She does japa....ha! gotcha!
