Guest guest
Namaste We all need to remember why we worship. When we sit to worship, take a few moments and with closed eyes, thank God for the priviledge of worship, and ask Her to take over and worship thru you. Or, in whatever way suits you, pray for help and guidance. In the foreword to the Chandi, Swami wrote about the understanding and practice of the Chandi, as an excercise to realize Her as our eternal nature. I write here a short quote, extracting it from a long beautiful passage in which he has been describing the intellectual angles of the Chandi. Now he focuses on the feeling of Her worship. "This is an intellectual interpretation of the Chandi. But to realize the real Chandi, we must strive to make the goddess the sum and substance of our entire life. This may be accomplished by sitting in an asana and pronouncing the mantras of this work, and by striving to make the asana and the recitation longer. Do not worry about not understanding. Do not worry about pronouncing the Sanskrt perfectly when you first begin your practice. Do not worry about anything. If you study this and other translations or commentaries and devotedly recite, Chandi will become known to you. The one who understands it completely is Lord Shiva, and to the extent we are capable, we become Him." This statement is true for all forms of worship. Take a form of God you feel attracted to, work on it daily, with full devotion, and dive in. As Ramakrishna said: Take one step towards God, and She takes 10 to you. Guest guest
Vish, It is so important, to me at least, to hear this from the gurus, again and again and again. If only I will practice, I will attain. If I want to be as they are, I can, if only I can keep practicing... Jai Maa!
