Guest guest
We welcome all the new members and, of course, warm welcomes back to Maharishi Bingo (what happened to the Ram at the end?). I will note that the topic of genuine and fake gurus has come up on this list before. Many years ago, one of our beloved members and guides, Jerrysan Rinpoche, wrote the funniest satire pretending to be a guru defending his immoral behavior with finesse and with reference to nonduality as well as legal technicalities and the difficulty of getting the required proof for conviction. I never laughed so hard. Jerrysan, hope life is treating you well brother. Of course, bad gurus are no laughing matter especially for people who are impacted negatively. I have seen students who trusted a guru get torn up inside when discovering the "truth". In fact, I have seen this with not just one guru but many different gurus. The process is always the same. Shock, grief, anger, reconciliation. It can take many years to heal fully and then one becomes cynical about gurus in general. It is a very complex issue and one can argue both sides of any argument. Ultimately, each person (including the fake guru) is doing the best they can. We don't have all the answers. We just huddle in our little cave and comfort each other. --
Guest guest
Namaste Harsha and Bingo ;-) I'd love to hear THAT story!!! Would someone please repost it? and my offering on the state of being human even for gurus and wanna-be-s. MORNING SUN The exigency of forgiveness remains in the beauty of a flower blossoming, if one knew better would one do...better? A heel breaks, crushes a soft green shoot, the scent of violets, lilacs fills the air, keeping promises of buds that never open.
